Hard to believe that we are heading for the end of the year.

Fun fact this is the earliest that we can have Thanksgiving in the calendar year because the first day of the month was Thursday. Next year it will be the latest that we can have Thanksgiving in a calendar year. This does not change the number of shopping days between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

We are not going anywhere this year. We are staying at home. We have the larder stocked so we don’t need to go anywhere until Monday. We are figuring that Saturday is going to be the earliest that we will venture out. Gives us some time to get everything off the DVR along with some household projects that need to be done. Might even get a creative project or two in there.

I have much to give thanks for this year.

First off my health, which is not perfect, but I know two things I didn’t know this time last year. I have control of how this goes and it’s not cancer. The not cancer is the biggest relief I have ever felt. I didn’t know how dark that cloud was until it went away. My health is back in my hands and it feels great.

My puppet adventures have been very interesting this past year. I think it was record year for getting puppets to people that I wanted to get them to. I have a few on the calendar for next year and I have a few I just want to build because I want them. And there were a couple of sales this year. I think I want to sell more of them next year.

Our convention adventures were a lot of fun. We made new friends and got to see a lot of old friends. I still enjoy the look on people’s faces as they try to figure out who the heck we are and why is (fill in the blank) so happy to see us. Then there were those that got to be there for the puppet hand offs, which became a very special thing indeed. I would like to thank all the people who ran conventions or worked conventions we went to this year. From the owners to the volunteers to the convention center/hotel personnel, I thank you for all the hard work that you do that allow us to have so much fun at your conventions.

I would like to thank all the people who taught us things this past year. I learned a lot from cosplayers this year. Some tricks I will be using on puppets and costumes for Caroline. For Caroline’s teachers who recognize that Caroline needs to the challenged and she rises to the challenges given her. To my fellow puppeteers who have given me their solutions to various problems I have had, I thank you.

Thanks to everyone who entertained us this year. To everyone who makes the movies, television, theater, games, and apps that we enjoy, thanks. We are entertained.

I am thankful for all my friends. I have a very diverse group of friends but what I find interesting is that cross over between my various groups of friends. I have found out about mutual friends that I have with people that I had no idea that they knew each other.

I am thankful for my family both the blood relatives and my family by choice. It is nice having people in my corner no matter what and know that I am loved unconditionally. I am thankful that I have a good relationship with my parents too.

I am thankful for some downtime. This year has been a bit of a whirlwind with all the various things that have happened. Months have been packed with travel and the like. I now have some time to breath before traveling again for the Christmas holidays at my parents’ house.

Finally I am thankful for my readers. When I started this web log, it was for my immediate family to keep up on Caroline who was growing up so fast. Since then I found out that many people read this for various reasons. I know that some have even found help within my rambles. This motivates me to write and post this stuff.

I am grateful for all the things I have to be thankful for this year.
