Black Friday 2018
Nov. 23rd, 2018 10:55 amIn which we are avoiding any and all shopping centers, malls, and stores.
Instead we are finishing Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Gauntlet. It holds up to the name. The movies are just ghastly but the crew is up to the task of riffing on the films. It is probably some of the best commentary they have done. It is also the 30th year of MST3K, which is a long time to be around as entertainment.
The dinner went well. Peter cooked the turkey and it was juicy and delicious. I cooked the sides and managed to get everything to time correctly. We have left overs to make turkey sandwiches and the like.
Today is another home day.
Considering the traffic around the mall on Wednesday, I don’t want to see what is happening today. I know that there are good bargains and the like but they have expanded the sales to a point that I don’t need to be there at 4 am for a TV that is an off brand and we have no room for.
My hat is off to the people who can work the system to their advantage. It is just not in me.
I am declaring it a cleaning/organizing day. I want to get those items we only use at Thanksgiving cleaned and put back away. Then get some other things done so I can be creative.
I am on cup of coffee number 3 so I am hoping that it has kicked in although this is rather random. A third cup is not my normal but I had a crap night of sleep due to pain so I am trying to get myself together.
I did get the holiday lights out in front of the house on Wednesday before we dropped into the deep freeze that is outside now. By the end of the weekend, I think the rest of the block will follow suit but they have to string their lights in parkas rather than shirtsleeves.
Ralph Breaks the Internet was a lot of fun. I will say stay all the way to the very very end. There is a post credit sequence that had me laughing so hard and was the perfect button to the film.
