WOW! It is COLD!
Feb. 6th, 2007 07:54 amI can feel the cold coming off the wall behind me and off the windows and that is with insulation. It is very cold outside. Winter is here and making up for lost time in December. So it is a warm fuzzy sock day.
Caroline seems on the mend. We had another night of taking turns with her since we were not positive that she was done with the bucket but she has managed to keep water down for over 12 hours now so I think we are over the crises point with that. She did develop a low-grade fever but nothing horrible. I am hoping that she will be over all this before her wellness visit tomorrow.
I did get a bunch of stuff done yesterday between the times that Caroline needed me. I hope to keep up the pace today so I can get this project done. I just have to stop putting pieces in backwards and I'll be fine. I hate it when not only do I have to take the piece out and put it back in but when I put it back in (after very carefully checking) it is still not in the right place. I'm going to be trying my new sewing machine later today for buttonholes. If that doesn't work then I use my usual solution of Velcro and faux buttonholes. I have done that before. I was quite proud of the fact that I didn't have any buttonholes on the costumes for Depp Charge. I found other ways of closing things and making it look like it did have those pesky buttonholes. Can you tell that I am not too partial about buttonholes? Also I am being good and lining some of the costumes so they have better lines and feel better to the people wearing them. I remember why I avoided linings like the plague.
Ariel has off from school today for some mysterious reason so I plan to go out and see if I can finish off some other pieces of this costume puzzle. Speaking of puzzles, we got Caroline a 60 piece puzzle with dinosaurs on it. She sat down with the pieces and the box top and put it together in less than an hour without any help from us. The kid has a great eye for patterns and how things go together.
I am grateful for kids who feel better.
