If you are a regular reader of my husband's blog (or mine brief update yesterday evening) you know that I got hit by the stomach bug that knocked Caroline on her tushy a couple of days ago. I feel very fortunate that it seems to be a 12 hours of heck and then it finally exits the system but not pleasantly either.
Ariel got it too. She started upchucking about 1:00 AM and was feeling better by 1:00 PM. I got up feeling queasy but put that down to just my usually stomach shenanigans. So I started working on stuff that I needed to do and my health went downhill from there. I ended up in bed drifting in and out of consciousness between visits to the porcelain gawd. Finally in the late afternoon I was feeling well enough to come downstairs and shiver on the couch. Good thing too since Peter had his midnight signing for the "Dark Tower" comic book at Midtown Comics and he had a ticket to my favorite Broadway musical "Avenue Q." So Caroline and I had the house to ourselves since Ariel had another appointment that had been scheduled a while back and she was feeling fine. She was a very good girl and let Mommy watch her play. We did an iChat visit with my parents in which she told them all about dinosaurs which is her current love in life. About half way through Boston Legal, I started to feel human again. By 11:30 I was able to get back to sleep and when I woke up this morning I felt a little weak but OK over all with some tummy growling which is much better than yesterday.
So I am a major day behind on the project I need to have done by Farpoint. I'm going to try to make up some of the time today but Caroline has her wellness visit today (remember when they were called check-ups?). But the rest of the day is clear if my body cooperates.
Peter got me a Trekkie Monster handpuppet which is really really cute. I may bring it with me to Farpoint. And we got the new Doctor Who soundtrack which is wonderful! It has most of the music that was played at the Cardiff concert.
I am grateful that I was not sick longer than I was.
