Remember the rant about when you are a what? Judi Ward who is a brilliant doll maker and all over wonderful person came up with what I think is the best breakdown for doll makers which works pretty well for some of the other things I was talking about.

I think that anyone who successfully makes and sells dolls/doll patterns/classes online or in person, must be considered a professional. The reason I say "successfully" is because some try but don't have the ability to do those things and are there for a month or so, and then gone.

An Advanced dollmaker is to me a person who has made a lot of dolls and the quality is way up there... in the execution/sewing/ face and clothing. Often an advanced dollmaker will also design and make one of a kinds. Once selling on a regular basis starts, one must move from Advanced into the professional category.

An Intermediate dollmaker does a very good job, will have a lot of skills in place, but will have troubles with some. Often an intermediate level dollmaker is also still on the journey to creating the "look" that will tell the world who made the doll.

A beginner will have a lot of skills to learn and will have a difficult time with some until it "clicks" (IE, the ladder stitch) A beginner may have made several Raggedy Anne style dolls but has not ventured to more detailed dolls yet, or is just starting on the adventure. A beginner can have really good sewing skills and things may come easily in the dollmaking world, they just need to make more dolls.

At all levels of dollmaking skill, there are going to be categories that one person does very well and another that they don't do as well....so there is crossover too...

Dr. Who last night was "Boom Town" which is a rather alliterative title for what goes on in the episode. They bring back Margaret the Sytheen who gives the Doctor a moral dilemma on top of a world coming to an end crisis. And we have the echo of "Bad Wolf" becoming louder and louder. I have already stated that this was not one of my favorites episodes. We do get a better take on Captain Jack. The banter between him and the Doctor was great fun esp. "Only if you buy me a drink first." A bunch of fans have complained that Doctor is being used for a gay agenda because of Captain Jack's views of sex and sexuality but I really don't see it.

I am grateful for people who can put into words concepts that I had straight in my head but not on paper.
