RTBTCKI (Rainy Day Edition II)
May. 19th, 2006 08:38 amThe rain is back. We had a thunderstorm about 5 AM with hard rain. Now we have a stead soaking rain. At some point last night Caroline wandered downstairs, curled up on the couch and went back to sleep. I didn't hear her get up. None of her toys are out and nothing she placed last night has moved so I am guess that she came down and went back to sleep pretty fast. Usually she knocks on the door and calls to me. I think we are going to have a little talk after she wakes up and has had some breakfast.
I have watched my way through 2 of the 4 disks of Dinosaurs. I remember it was funny but I had forgotten how funny. When I first watched it I think I saw it from the kids point of view. Now that I am a parent I am seeing it from Fran's. And I wasn't crazy. I did see Gunge in a couple of the episodes. Philo and Gunge were the creatures that were always with the Trash Heap in Fraggle Rock. At one point one of my computers shut down to the sound of "The Trash Heap has spoken! Naaaah." I also had one that closed with the Doctor #4 saying, "If there is one thing I can't stand it is being tortured by someone with cold hands" Right now I don't have any clever sounds at either opening or closing.
Peter is getting back late today. It will be nice to see him. In a week is our 5th wedding anniversary. I got him something I really hope he likes. We are still figuring out what we are going to do for our anniversary.
Caroline insists, and I am happy that she does, on wearing her bike helmet even if she is riding her tricycle in the living room. Bike safety starts when they are young and once they get into the habit of putting on that helmet before they get on the vehicle the more likely they are to it every time. When she is done, she has me take the helmet off her and snap the chinstrap then she puts on the handlebars of her tricycle so it will be there for next time.
Dr. Who tonight is a done in one episode that ties up some loose ends from earlier in the season. Can't say that it is my favorite but there is a very good scene in a restaurant between the Doctor and the villain of the piece. The nice thing about this season in Doctor Who is that there is always one scene that is worth watching the episode for.
I hope everyone has a nice day. I think Caroline and I are going to color for a while once she gets up.
I am grateful for the ability to watch my sleeping daughter and enjoy the peace of her sleep.
