I declare these Games to be So-So
Feb. 25th, 2006 09:19 amI find myself not as interested in the Olympics as I have been in past years. I finally figured out that it has to do with the presentation by the network. I understand that there is a time difference but I can remember a time when they showed the events in real time during the day and then did a review in the evening. Now they pretend that this is happening at the moment rather than 6 hours previous. Also I am getting tired of creating stories where there are none. Shouldn't the games themselves be exciting enough. The exception was Ms. Flowers and her son who can hear now. That was a real story and it had a happy ending when one of her sponsors (Kleenex, how appropriate was that?) flew her family over to be with her. That was news worthy but if I hear another one about Bode Miller and the "controversy" he stirs I am going to hurl (and not in the curling sense). So Miller drinks and acts like a jerk on TV. Gee how many sitcoms or 'reality' shows can I see that on? Deciding that something is interesting does not make it so.
My very un-interesting day is going to consist of cleaning and writing with a possible trip to the movie theater with Caroline and Ariel to see Curious George. I have ATCs to finish and a snake as well as my application to DragonCon Art Show. I need to find 7 images to send for the jury.
Off to clean.
I am grateful for everything I am able to write today.
