I took Ariel to see Spamalot. It holds up to repeat viewings. Tim Curry is no longer with the show but Simon Russell Beale does a fine job as King Arthur and looks a lot like Peter in his King Arthur garb. This time I could look at the role rather than the actor. David Hyde Pierce is still gets my award as funniest guy in that show but Hank Azaria is now a very close second. He seems much more comfortable with the show then he did when I saw it in previews and actually having some fun. His French Taunter is much improved and very funny. David Hyde Pierce does still have the show stopped in the second act. Ariel really loved the show. The Lancelot number in Act 2 was her favorite probably because it is just that silly. I explained to her afterwards how that whole plotline came out of one line in the movie.

Before the show we tried a new Japanese restaurant which we picked at random on restaurant row. It is called Ocha on 46th between 8th and 9th. She rates it as her second favorite sushi restaurant. Her favorite currently is Ru San's in Atlanta. They had sushi wrapped in different colors of soybean paper. I had a bento box that was very good too.

Wendy Froud is teaching her doll making class again but over 3 days rather than 2 and in two sessions rather than one along with a short how to on one day with a signing afterwards. You can get the details at www.worldoffroud.com or www.sculpt.com. I'm going to the second session. It is well worth the money.

MirrorMask is out on DVD finally. Buy it and watch it especially if you were a fan of Labyrinth, Neil Gaiman and/or Dave McKean.

I am grateful I saw Spamalot again.
