My Desktop is made of wood
Feb. 26th, 2006 09:12 amWell I recovered my desk yesterday. It's not totally paper free but I can work at it again which is a far cry from where it was. I am sort of working my way around the living room between working on some other things. March 1st is Wednesday and I have a lot to do before that. I think I will be glad to see the beginning of March.
We didn't go to the New York Comic Con this weekend. Peter and Ariel were supposes to be upstate for the Pro/Am but between Peter's knee and Ariel being invited to a double tournament a little closer to home they didn't go. I really don't think all the walking would have done Peter's knee much good at this point. He is working hard on getting better.
Elayne Riggs made a good point about the Olympics. It uses to be that we discovered our heroes there rather than manufacturing them before the events. I almost threw a book at the TV when I heard the Bode Miller commercial that Nike did about "even if I don't win a medal I'm still cool and showing people stuff." Loudmouth Loser with too many endorsements comes to mind as his new title. Most of the people that they were pushing are coming out of the games just fine with endorsements. Closing ceremonies are tonight and I wonder if they are going to be as wacky as the opening ones.
The wind outside is downright nasty this morning. The cats have all found themselves sunny patches to snooze in. Vanilli is next to Caroline stretched out to his full length basking in the sun and pets from Caroline.
Off to make pancakes for the family.
I am grateful for quiet mornings.
