Rain Rain Come Today
May. 2nd, 2004 12:13 pmWe are going to get a gully washer. I can feel it in my left foot. The sky is filled with gray dark clouds and the wind is bringing the smell of the salt air up from the bay. I do like a good storm. A sweeping thunderstorm will wash the “green” out of the air. There is the smell of the world after a good rain. To me it smells pure and good and clean. Of hope and possibility.
I like watching a good storm. I like lighting and thunder. With wireless connections and portable computers, you can now work through a storm rather than shutting everything down trying to avoid a power serge. There is something primal about a thunderstorm.
I am trying to clear the decks so I can get started on a few things I want to do. I am starting to make lists again. I find that lists help me to focus and organize my time. I made a lot of lists when I was stage managing. I made lists of my lists to keep my lists organized. I make fewer lists these days. With a almost 17th month old, I have to be more spontaneous with how my time is spent and a bit more creative. Which is fine. I just put it down as a possibility on one of my lists.
