Today is Veterans Day in the US. This is the day we thank our vets for serving their country and allowing us to continue to be the US. I want to thanks all the veterans that I know and probably some I don’t know as vets for their service and courage. Today would also be a good day to write your congressional representatives and senators and inform them that you would not be happy if they cut services and monies owed our Veterans. Let’s take care of them because they took care of our country.

I did get the coffee maker to make a pot of coffee. It just took a while to do so.

The coffee maker has developed some form of short in the electrical system that is causing it to shut down while grinding beans. I thought I had fixed it from when it did this a while a go but no it has not improved. I can’t say I haven’t gotten my money’s worth on this machine since I have been using it for almost 13 years.

Football was interesting this weekend both in professional and college. The Giants prove that they aren’t giving up. The Jags proved they could win a game. A number of teams hit the magic number that says they are out of the running for even a wild card spot and now get to play spoiler for other teams. In college I haven’t looked at the polls this morning but I am interested in the voting for this week considering how some of the games went down.

Thor: The Dark World make approximately 86 million this weekend. Adding that to the worldwide total, Marvel Studio has another hit on its hands. And those sorts of streaks (think PIXAR) tend to get critics looking for ways to bring down the studio a peg or two. The reviews for Thor were very mixed. And the amount of them that read like they were written before the reviewer even saw the film increased. I could have written a number of them based on the trailers. They would be incorrect but I could do it. I also find it interesting that there seems to be an even split between Too Little Loki and Too Much Loki reviews. I thought it was just right.

Caroline is coming back today after spending the weekend with her sister and we are looking forward to having her home. The Caroline sized hole in the house seemed bigger than usual this time. Her cat has been rather upset when we walk into the house and she realizes that Caroline is not there. I have a feeling that Caroline is going to have to deal with the Velcro Cat when she gets home.

Fandom is a funny thing. Fans love something with all their heart and somewhere along the line, they feel some ownership to that which they love. And with that ownership comes a nasty behavior of getting upset when the stories being told don’t go their way or something they had been assuming was going to happen, didn’t. Then they say that the creators don’t know what they are doing and why can’t they do what we said. Now if the creators do something that the fans have said that they wanted, the fans see it and turning around and say that the creators are pandering to the fans and they don’t get what the fans really meant. Darned if you do and darned if you don’t. I have seen creators blasted for giving fans exactly what they wanted. Sometimes it was by design (fans got it right) and sometimes it is to appease their fanbase. I think creators should ignore the vocal minority and go out and tell the stories that they want to tell. And if it is the same story as what the fans wanted, well go on the fans for being in sync with the creator.

No idea what I am going to talk about for Crafty Tuesday. Any suggestions?

Also do y’all have any convention questions? Would you, as a reader, be interested in tales from conventions I have attended?

Am I asking too many questions?

Well off to clean something up. Why do cats have to barf in inconvenient places?

I am grateful for input.

Now I want more coffee.

The cats think they're doing us a favor, barfing where it's right there in front of us on the rug, rather than under the couch somewhere we'd have trouble cleaning it up. :D

They only do it to annoy, because they know it teases.
