Decorating and Goblins

Decorations are up and working. The funny thing about stringing lights is that it takes longer to take them down neatly than it does to put them up if you were neat about taking them down last time. Peter came up with the final touch that we will add if it is not raining Sunday. I am going to take one of the gentlemen puppets and redress him as a pirate then hang him out of the second story with a sign that says “No Pirates” or some such nonsense. We have already been warned about possible egging in the neighborhood. Doesn’t surprise me that much.
Today I hope to accomplish a couple of things but it will depend on the good mood of my daughter. I need to go get the rest of Ariel’s costume so she can be Dora the Explorer to go with Caroline’s Boots costume. I want to get started on some stuff I read in book I bought called “Organization: Plain and Simple” which is not one of those “toss everything out and start again” books. The author recognizes that some people are pack rats and gives you some really creative ways of dealing with your stuff.
Another book I obtained was the new Brian Froud and Ari Beck “Goblins”. It is a wonderful twisted piece of work with great Froud drawings. I am about half way through the text. So far I am enjoying it especially the goblin comments in the margins. There are some altered photos ala Pressed Fairy that are just wonderful. So if you are a fan of Froud, Goblins, or fantasy art books this one is for you.
I am grateful for shelves.
