FarScape is back! FarScape is back! Well as a four hour miniseries at least for now. I watched the first two hours last night. The beginning was good but the show really started to sparkle when John and Aeryn showed up. I turned to Peter and said, “That is what was missing from the beginning of the show.” He agreed. Overall I thought it was very good and I am looking forward to the conclusion tonight. I can’t say I like all the costume changes. They look too clean and bright. The actors went back into their various roles with ease. Pilot looks different but I have explained why in an earlier blog I believe. (Short version: They didn’t have a copy of the final plans for Pilot. Someone walked off with them is the theory. Mine is that there were changes made over time which were never documented in the plans since Pilot was already built.)
I feel sooo sorry for BoSox fans. Hope is still alive after last night although you know they are going to break your hearts in the end. The Astros tied it up with the Cardinals. Right now the more exciting matched team baseball is being played in the NL series. The AL series is getting most of the ink or maybe that is because I am in New York.
Jets 5-0 go against the Patriots who have now won 20 games in a row including the Super Bowl. The line is against the Jets. The Patriots have a lot of momentum behind them. I say that it is too close to call and I am going to watch the game next week because it is either going to be a bloodbath or a blowout.
I saw Team America yesterday. I liked that they didn’t hid the puppet joints. You could see how the puppets were put together especially when they were naked. Yes folk we now have puppets on screen in very adult situations that in other films would get it an MA rating but the MPA let it slide to an R with good reasoning too. These were not anatomically correct puppets. They had no genitalia. It was like watching Barbie and Ken boink. Over all I would say that if you like South Park, this is very much your cup of tea. If you loved Thunderbirds, this is your kind of film as long as you don’t mind strong language, adult situations, and over the top violence. I laughed really hard and had a good time.
