But first some Good Peter news. He went to see his Eye Doctor and the double vision is gone. He needs new glasses (lens) but he needed them before we even when down to Atlanta for Christmas. We are so happy about this development.

Today he has his first of two evaluations for both his PT and OT the outpatient version. He has another Doctor’s appointment today just to make sure everything is OK. Most of this week is a plethora of appointments and things that need to get done for Peter.

Crafty Tuesday

A short explanation: Crafty Tuesday was something I started last year where I devoted Tuesday to either talking about things I have been working on, the business of crafts, or whatever other crafty thing that comes to mind.

I have to admit to not feeling very artsy or crafty these days. I have had a lot on my mind with Peter, upkeep of the house, Caroline, and the 20 other things that keep moving up and down the list.

But not being creative for a prolong period of time is not good for me. Creative for me is much like breathing. I need it to really live and be happy.

It isn’t like I haven’t had some wacky ideas for things. One might make its debut at DragonCon.

But the act of sitting down and creating is right now very hard to do. Not for what anyone else needs me to do, I just sit down and can’t even get started on something.

I honestly can say I don’t believe in writer or artist block but I may start believing in an artistic speed bump.

So maybe I’ll pull something out or research a project I have been thinking about for a bit and figure out how I am going to get my groove back in action.

I am so very grateful that Peter’s vision has returned to normal.

As you say, it's not like you don't have a lot on your mind right now. Give it some time. The well has to be full before you can draw from it. Take care of the business at hand, and eventually the business will give way to play again.

Well said

Exactly. Life is what happens while you're making other plans. If you can't get the energy or enthusiasm to actually make something, jot down notes to use later!

[livejournal.com profile] scarlettina is right. The well will fill with fresh water presently. Let it rise for a while as you go about your new business of living and it will be there for you when you're ready for it.

That's wonderful news about Peter's eyes.

Yes, you have a lot of other things on your mind right now, but I'm going to give you some slightly different advice from the others: Try something small, simple, and/or relatively mindless to pull out and noodle with to get you started on the crafty-ness again.
