At least it looks like the piles are reducing at this time. My bigger concern is the refreeze and the weight of the snow as the water adds to it.

Yesterday was quiet with the exception of taking Gwen to the Ronkonkama Station. That was a white knuckle ride I never hope to repeat again in my lifetime. It was a combination of snow on ice and abandon cars. Ours almost got stuck but some really good people stopped what they were doing and got us out of our predicament.

Today there are a couple of visits that must be done and some errands that needs to be run. We are starting adjusting to this new life.

Peter is pretty much able to get around the house. There are a few things we need to move or change but he can live here safely.

I am grateful for any reduction in snow.

How much snow did you get? It was officially ten inches here, but I didn't see more than six. It's also melting off the pavements nicely and not expected to refreeze the rest of the week. I hope yours clears as easily and well.

I'm glad you survived the trip to the train with Gwen. This might have been the time to have her walk to the local station instead, even though that train is less convenient.

24 inches.

No trains were running past Babylon until this afternoon so Ronkonkama was the closest and she did have to get back

Right now it is pretty hazardous but we are home and safe.

Yikes!

That's a good reason.

Stay safe.

Rain also makes snow heavy, and harder to shovel! Glad you survived your trip, and that you made it safely home.
