But by tomorrow we are back to the end of summer.

I am not really a summer person. I do better when cold than when hot. The parents at the bus make bets at how cold it has to get before I put on a light jacket. So when we get this light fall touch in the air, I feel like I am rejuvenated.

Today for me is a cleaning and reorganization day. Things that were gotten out for Dragon*Con and the Ren Faire must go back where they came from. I also got to check the puppets for damage before they go back into storage. Ariel had college book delivered to the house which we are going to get to her this weekend so I have to make sure I have all those. Also stuff needs to go out to other people and I need to finish two dolls (about 3 months overdue).

Fig is officially 2 years old based on what the vet figures as her age when we found her. I cheat it a few towards when we found her so she is definitely 2 by this point. It is amazing how much Caroline and Fig have bonded. Fig is Caroline’s cat. Fig comes down when I go to the bus stop to pick up Caroline and waits for her in the middle of the living room. Fig gets her head scritched and purrs and then goes off about the rest of her day. Fig still makes that strange burble that she has made since we found her. I have never heard another cat make that noise.

The older cats are getting older. Stalin and Treat are about 17 and Millie and Vanilli are about 14. They are slowing down a bit but they are our cats and we love them.

NFL Football has started. I’ll start watching in a couple of weeks since I am rather busy for the next couple.

Somewhere in there I need to get the Halloween Decorations out and up. Waiting for the end of September which is arriving faster than I thought possible.

Tonight I am registering Caroline for a new Girl Scout troop. There is no Junior Troop at her school so she is going into a group that was created for the kids in the area to have their own troop. She is looking forward to her first meeting a lot and wants to be able to wear her uniform to school. I am glad that we have another generation that wants to be part of Girl Scouts.

Does anyone know a good place to start a website? I want to make a website to sell my puppets, dolls, and costumes. I think I missed the opening at Etsy to put stuff up there but maybe not. Ebay rules are more convoluted than the tax law in America. I also wonder if anyone has either tips or the like on how to promote such business ventures. I am a little clueless in this but want to succeed. I have puppets that I am willing to part with and would be interested in creating puppets for others.

Ah there is the coffee rush in my veins. Off to organize my home and my life. Wish me luck.

I am grateful for learning curves.

Those are great names for cats.

That's cool Caroline wants to do girl scouts. I did 4-H and while I don't have kids, I think it's important for them to have something like that to do.

I know nothing about starting a web site, but I see that I like and follow a lot of companies and things like that on facebook to get news about them and what's available. So that might help market your site once it's up.

Facebook is a start, use FB to make a fanpage and promote it through sites like LinkedIn, Pintrest and Twitter. As for a storefront, StoreEnvy is a good one. You can even connect it to a domain so its easier for folks to find.

Then business cards (w/ a QR code pointing at your FB or Storefront)and lots of con networking, which is something I think would work well in your favor!

What exactly do you mean by "missed the opening at Etsy"? It's still there. Heck, I even still have listings there--I took down the word art, but I still have some vintage stuff up. I even sell a Duran Duran calendar now and again.

The thing about Etsy is that it's a bit like a storefront in a gigantic mall with LOTS of other shops. You shouldn't rely on hoping someone will stumble by and see your stuff, but it is a place that you can point people to when they ask "where can I get one of those?"
