First things first, Caroline will be on her way home today. I am so looking forward to seeing my little girl again and hearing about all her adventures.

So this year through some sheer luck and having a silver pass, I have been to Disney World twice and Disneyland once.

Dan Diego COmic Con lines makes it much easier to stand on line for rides at Disneyland. Waiting 15 minutes for a ride is much better than 4 hours to walk through a 5 minute exhibit.

Disneyland is not as much into pin trading as Disney World. In WDW (all four parks) trading pins with employees is pretty much a common activity. In DL, I didn’t find as many cast members trading and the number of pins was not that great.

The new Cars land at California adventure is OK during the day but the neon at night is amazing. You could superimpose a piece of the film over what they created and it would all match up. Just a lovely job over all. The rides looked fun but the lines were out the door even with the park closing in under an hour.

The Pirates of the Caribbean ride is longer at DL and has two drops rather than one. You also go past a bayou with the restaurant on the other side with tables looking out over the ride. In DL they have both Davy Jones and Blackbeard doing their ghostly little speeches. Better Jack placement at WDW.

Haunted Mansion is pretty much the same in both places. However DL still has the older version of the ghosts following you home. Kind of nice to see that again.

Roger Rabbit still has over an hour wait to ride the ride. Considering how old that ride is, it is amazing that many people still want to ride it. I used a fastpass to go in a reasonable amount of time. Did the same thing with DL Star Tours. Indiana Jones was even longer and the fastpasses went really fast.

I tried to ride things in DL that aren’t in WDW anymore or never were there. So I rode Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride and Alice in Wonderland. While waiting for Alice, I got to watch the “mountain climbers” clamoring over the Matterhorn.

Disneyland has improved their ability to have shade for people. Didn’t feel like I was baking.

The redone Disneyland Hotel is amazing and beautiful. Trader Sams was a bit of a disappointment since the Adventurers’ Club stuff that had been there was nowhere to be found. They do take care of your luggage when you are in the parks. However there is no Disney transport from the hotel to the airports like at Orlando.

Overall I had a nice time at DL and WDW this year.

I am grateful for all my Disney experiences this year.

I would really like to get back out to California and spend more time at Disneyland. I've only been once and we only had about 6 hours or so, so made a beeline for Mr. Toad (because they don't have that here in Orlando anymore as you mentioned) and then sort of bumbled about on random things.

Though, the things they're doing here at WDW in Fantasyland look pretty promising over the construction wall.
