Peter and Ariel have left for their Adventures in Boston with Gwen. Caroline was coughing last night and this morning. Our concern is her depressed immune system and lots of people that we don’t know who might be coming down with something. Caroline and I will be on our own for a little over 24 hours. It is also good for Ariel to have some time with her father and her sister without Caroline and me there as well. One of my few regrets, which number one is not seeing Gwen, is that we had tickets to the Lord of the Rings Costume exhibit for today. I really would have liked to see it but Caroline’s health take priority.
This will also allow me to get out the Ren faire costumes we have collected over the years. Ariel’s birthday party this year is taking some of her friends to the Ren Faire up in Tuxedo NY. I am going to see what we can dress everyone up in and if things go very well I will be able to finish Peter’s redone helmet. I also have to finish a doll and I have puppet parts to vampire detectives strewn all over.
My family was hit by Ivan yesterday. 6 inches of rain in a very short period of time. My father sent me some pictures of the flooding. They, so far, have avoided damage and flooding. We are expecting what is left of Ivan to hit here tomorrow and then clear out. I know some other people who have been unable to communicate other than getting a cell phone call out to one person to tell the rest of us they are wet but alright. I figure we will find out the fall out over the next couple of days. I am just glad that my friends are alive.
I am grateful for the National Weather Service.
