DragonCon the beginning

We made it. We managed to get out of the house will only a few things forgotten. None on the critical list. The Housesitter settled in with the cats and we left for the airport. Took off close to schedule but landed a bit late in Atlanta due to weather. Ariel, Caroline and I took the DragonCon shuttle to the hotel. Peter picked up our car for the weekend and met us there. We went to visit my parents and celebrate Ariel’s 13th Birthday with a small party. My mom makes the best chocolate cakes. We came back to the hotel, settled Caroline down, and Peter and I met up with Harlan and Susan. I ran into some other friends and stopped to talk. I hear “Kathleen!”. I turn and it is Matt and Jewel who were looking for people they knew. I spent most of the rest of the evening spending time with them and watched fans comes up and introduce themselves to Jewel. She and I were surprised at the number of people who came up not only to talk about Firefly but also Space Cases. Peter joined us and we were up entirely too late. Caroline was a good girl and didn’t get up at the crack of dawn this morning. Now we are getting ready to begin DragonCon.

I am grateful for the physics that makes airplanes possible.

Of course, I'm jealous of your skill in making puppets too. LOL

And you are at DragonCon, which automatically makes me jealous.

One of these years I'll make it to Dragoncon .. a very expensive time of year for trans-Atlantic travel though (i.e. about 2x the non-holidaytime costs). Grr.
