Sunburn

I have managed to get through Disney World and a trip to the beach and various other sunny locations without sunburn. I thought I miss my semi-annual sunburn. We went to the Ducks games yesterday under what started at hazy conditions that cleared up. Guess who forgot her sunscreen? Yep, that would be me. And because of the angle of the sun I look like the frelling Phantom of the Opera since the sunburn on my face is all to one side. One arm is very red. The other arm is less so except across the wrists. Caroline didn’t come with us to this game and it was a good thing too. She would have been miserable in the heat with an occasional breeze. Instead she played with her babysitters and took a nap. I just hope it clears up before DragonCon.

Speaking of DragonCon, which I probably will for the next week or so, the pocket program is up. It has most of my schedule listed with a few costuming additions. It also has everyone else’s schedule in it too. So for anyone going to DragonCon, you can start planning your weekend.

Olympics are over. I saw part of the closing ceremonies but not the whole thing. I feel sorry for the Brazilian marathon runner who was pushed by a spectator for reasons we probably will never know. It is a testament to Vanderlei de Lima that he was able shake off the attack and got his head back in the game to win the bronze. I notice no whining from Mr. de Lima over the results of the race. It is interesting watching the athletes milling about the field in the grand party. The world can get along. The Olympics proves it.

Anyone have any good ways of dealing with sunburn? I am aloeing.

I am grateful for aloe lotion.

The attack was motivated by that crazy person (and he was, stepped out in front of cars during a formula 1 race) in that he wished to let Mr. Lima have a direct experience with Jesus. He apparently was "told" by God that Mr. Lima was one of the definately saved ones.

He was arrested fairly rapidly, and the crowd took care of most of it. Mary was watching and screamed at the idiot.
