I wish everyone who observes Ash Wednesday a good day and that Lent is what you need it to be. I am wondering what the streets of New Orleans look like today. Are people trying to keep the party going or is everyone in church today?

This evening Caroline is going to be honored at her school as the citizen of the month for the second grade. This is the second time she has received this honor having been elected by her teachers and the principle in the first grade. This means a great deal to her because they emphasize good citizenship and helping others at her school. I am very proud of her.

I have gotten some inquires as to how Figaro is doing. She is growing up fast. We figure she is going to be one of the longer cats here. She grows in a weird pattern. Her head looks too big for her body and then her body catches up making her legs look short and then her legs catch up with the rest of her. Right now we are back to the head looking a little large for her body. She is Caroline’s kitty. Fig greets her when she gets home and settles next to her when Caroline is reading on the couch.

The weather is going to be nasty the next couple of days. Great time to be indoors working on something. My sympathies and thoughts to all who are looking at additional flooding after the rains we had this past weekend.

Apparently we are back to cell phones being BAD for the brain. I can’t believe that the Bluetooth can be any better. Also did anyone do a study of just using a handset or headset and brain function or is this something we are discovering now? My problem with my blue tooth is that it puts pressure on a point on my ear that causes me to get headaches.

I guess this is sort of a Random Thoughts but I have had my two cup allotment of coffee before I got to the computer.

Off to do something creative I hope.

I am grateful that Caroline is doing well at school.

Fortunately for my brother, who partied last night, we are not Christians of any variety, so his party shall continue. ;)

I can tell you at a set time the police start moving people out of the French Quarter.
At a pre-set time the start using water hoses to hose down the street of debry and people.
Usually these wet people get a nice ride to the police department.
No parties are left going at clubs or in the streets.
I have been told stories of red beans and rice and sober up driks with tabassco before showering and hitting church for the smudge.
And yes a study( a few) have been done and blue tooth or car consol phones are safer.
That came out a few years back and was buried very quickly as the AMA was still saying that the phones were safe.
Of course if the AMA says it - It must be true!
Like rinsing the nasal cavity with salt water is not going to help even though cultures have used it for centuries.
And yet a few years back the AMA start pushing it. Not the Neti version but little plastic squeeze bottles that rot from the hot water and the perfect packets of salt they also sell.

Hey, quick thought inspired by your recent Florida trip--have you and Peter considered joining the Disney Vacation Club? We got curious about it last November when we went there for our anniversary, and ended up joining up this month after doing a lot of reading about it.

You guys are down there so much it might be worth checking out.

It's a city full of hangovers today, pretty much. At midnight the cops go down Bourbon Street and shoo everyone away, which is surprisingly more effective than it sounds. So yeah, they're either at home or church.
