Where half the fun is getting there.
Well not really. We had more of an adventure than I think we wanted getting here. It started with a roving pot-hole repair crew (sounds like a bunch of Vikings going around attacking potholes) which closed 3 out of 4 lanes on the Belt which lead to the drawbridge being up when we got there which lead us to be on the Belt when the fire trucks blocked off all but one lane of the road to deal with a car fire. And that was just getting to Staten Island. New Jersey had its own set of traffic problems and then there was the construction in Delaware and Maryland which put us on the loop right about the middle of rush hour. So it took a while to get here.
Once here we settled in. I put my art in the art show. Caroline went to a movie with the other kids here. Ariel and her buddies Karoked way into the night. Peter worked on writing stuff and sleeping after driving us here safely. I talked to friends and caught up on news and stuff. I also had a nice conversation with Bonita Friedericy (The General on Chuck). Her husband John Billingsley introduced us to her at a DragonCon.
All in all a pretty typical Farpoint Friday. Today I have a couple of panels and getting the girls ready of the Masquerade tonight.
I am grateful that we did figure out the back route once we got into the area considering we were heading into another traffic snarl.
