And we are not talking about Knights of the Dinner Table either.

Caroline has been coughing which is not that too unusual this time of year. She seems to react to the change of season. So we do what we do for the problem and normally it clears up in a little bit.

But this time the cough has been persistent and alarming. Even after she takes her medication she has these long drawn out coughing fits. At night I often wake up and listen to her cough while checking the clock to see if I can give her something to ease it for her.

So today we kept her home from school to take her to her doctor and make sure that it is ONLY allergies or seasonal change hack and not something worse. We have an appointment at noon.

I am hoping that we find something out or at least have something that can allow her a solid night’s sleep. I think the dark circles under both our eyes are turning into caverns.

I am grateful for anything that can make my daughter feel better.

Ah, as someone who still has seasonal allergies, and who grew up with Hay Fever allergies, I can sympathize with Caroline. There was an OTC antihystamine called Demazin that I took and that helped. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it in years, and these days I take Coracidin HBP, which is for people with hypertension, yet it's worked better for me than anything else in a LONG time.

Hope everything turns out okay and that she - and you - get some sleep!

Thank you.

It was her seasonal allergies. She is on Singular at night and Claridan during the day. If it holds to form, she'll be right as rain in about two weeks.

Does she have asthma, K?

Lots of good thoughts going out to her, and you!
