To everyone down in Florida, I am rooting for ya. Here’s to an over hyped media and a fizzling tropical storm that with be less trouble than Bonnie was.
So ya think Pataki will be next? Between Connecticut and New Jersey’s governors resigning is New York. One left due to corruption and the other due to adultery. The Corruption effected everyone in the state. The adultery effected only the governor’s immediate family but media is all over it. I don’t feel sorry for John Rowland but I do feel sorry for the residents of Connecticut. They are going to be feeling the effects of Rowland decision to accept gifts and favors from individuals and companies that do business with the state. Now maybe Rowland never favored his friends but I highly doubt it. James McGreevy really had only effected his family. He has 2 daughters and a wife (his second) who are now mixed up with this. I hope we never find out how much his wife knew. I think that this is a private matter between the Governor and his wife. Peter and I were talking about this yesterday and came to the conclusion that either he was being blackmailed OR he was threatened with blackmail since the press had only rumors. And the fact he is gay is not the issue. He committed adultery and broke his marriage vows to his wife. That is the big issue. But again that really doesn’t effect the state as a whole but the individuals involved. And what of his children? Nobody in the media has mentioned them or how this is going to effect them. His wife and children have my best wishes and concern.
I am grateful that I can express my informed opinions and not worry about being arrested for something I said.
