Caroline dragged Ariel’s large (bigger than Caroline) Kenai as a Bear into her corral this morning. She is currently taking her Fisher Price People and rolling them down Kenai’s back. When we got this large stuffed animal there was a Koda attached to Kenia’s back with Velcro. In short order that Koda became attached to Caroline or Caroline to it. That bear is one of her favorite stuffed toys. Ariel was cool with that since that means she had a representation of being a big sister and Caroline as the little sister. This morning Caroline went into Ariel’s room with their daddy to wake up her big sister. She sat on Ariel’s bed as Ariel slowly woke up. She smiled at Ariel and then grabbed Kenai with a death grip. So Kenia traveled downstairs and into the corral.

I was listening to NPR this morning while brewing my coffee. I didn’t hear the whole story it was someone from the Atlantic Monthly talking about entertainers and politics. And it got me to thinking about a mindset that I find very scary. There are some that think that entertainers are not allowed to express political opinions. This goes from the people who won’t go see a film because Heston is in the film and he is a right wing gun nut. They total ignore that Heston show good sense and great moral fiber by saying he was going to sell his guns because he is suffering from potential dementia. I feel very sorry for both Mr. Henston and his family and wish him the best. To Whoopie being canned as the spokesman for Slim Fast because she used her humor at the expense of our current sitting President. Entertainers are human beings and they have feelings and opinions. I think they have a right to express them in the public forum just like anyone else. I have heard more sound bites from people all over the country about this election than I think I have from any other election. Do the famous opinions mean less than the farmer out in Kansas or the steelworker in Pittsburgh who are also getting to express thier views on a national platform? Personally, I don’t think so.

I heard that piece on NPR this morning too and the first thing I thought of was your entry on rights and priveleges.

I wonder how many of the people pissing and moaning about actors getting involved in politics voted for Ronald Reagan.....
