Ok we left the Doctor in trouble with what seems to be no way out which is probably when he is at his most dangerous.

We learn a little more about River Song but, at this point, it seems that the more we learn the less we know. I’ll talk about the implications of what was said about her in the spoilers section. I do like that it seems that their interaction seems to be backwards still. Some day we will probably see their timelines collide just not this season. I do expect to see River later this season.

Amy is put through the ringer in this one and comes out on the other end…see Spoilers for my comments on this development.

Again the acting is fine and I feel that Matt is getting a handle on his version of the Doctor. The maniac is still there but it is a little more controlled than it has been in previous episodes. Karen Gillian continues to impress me as a companion.

I really see this and “The Time of Angels” as a piece rather than two separate episodes and that didn’t bother me.

Next week we go to Venice and deal with Vampires. With any luck there will be no Edward Cullens in the mix.

I am grateful for concluding episodes that do conclude the story along with setting up new things.

Ok usual rules apply. We only can talk up to this episode. Thanks.

The Mystery of River Song: Ok we know that she kills someone who is much beloved in the Universe. The implication seems to be that it is the Doctor but I am not currently buying that line of thought. We also have the set up of the Pandorica opening which the Doctor dismisses as a fairy tale which means that it will play some important role later.

The Mystery of Amy Pond: We are given all kinds of clues here and a lot of significance is placed upon her. I am really starting to think that Amy is a construct and not real or she is something that time created like Princess Astra was part of the time key although she never knew it. Or there is more than one Amy Pond in the time stream. We also have the mysterious appearing and disappearing jacket that the Doctor wears. Now we don’t know if it was a continuity error or something of significance that we are suppose to pay attention to.

They Mystery of the Crack in Time: We got some forward movement on this with the solution to the problem of dropping the Angels in it to seal it but there is still a lot to be answered. Why can Amy remember when everyone else forgets? Why does she not remember other things like the Daleks? I have a feeling that is going to continue to play out over the rest of the season.

I don’t think we are done with the Angels yet.

So those are my thoughts, what are yours?

I'm hoping one day we'll get to the see the first time River Song meets the Doctor, and she how she likes it. :-)

Her comment that its weird when he goes all baby face implies that it is yet another (presumably future) Doctor that meets her first. That bugs me a little.

Why can Amy remember when everyone else forgets? Why does she not remember other things like the Daleks?

The implication is that being a time traveler protects her memories even when time around her changes. The fact that she can't remember the Daleks implies that event has been rewritten prior to Amy entering the TARDIS.

I want to know why Amy went snogging mad at the end. I want a very good explanation for that preferably involving mind control or possession. Just when it seemed we'd finally chucked the whole companion falling for the Doctor garbage, this happened. Most annoying.

Hey, if one of my favorite sex fantasies saved my life a few times, I might be inclined to lunge for them.

I found it interesting when the Doctor looked out over the beach and said "Time can be rewritten". Seems like there is going to be a huge story line revolving around Amy and her seemingly alternative universe. I feel something significant is coming.

Also- what was with ANGRY!Doctor while he was trying to guide Amy to the ship blindly? I mean, I understand that he was stressed, but he really seemed to wig out on River.

Well, I don't think any of the clerics had traveled in time--and River and the Doctor remembered them (I wonder what the orbiting ship thought when River re-contacted them? Though some of them weren't swallowed by the crack, so they'd remember that some of their contingent went down)--though that is mostly supposition.
