How I am going to Stop the Blizzard

There is a possibility of a blizzard heading for my part of Long Island. It could be something or it could be nothing. Here is how I am going to make sure it is nothing.
1.I am going to the library and return the books that I was planning to return Sunday (their due date) so I don’t have any overdue books around the house.
2.I am going to buy a cover for the air conditioning unit to make it snug for the winter. I know where I can get one so that’s a done deal.
3.I am going to go to the grocery store and get those things that you always get before a storm including brownie mix. I was going anyway today so I am not really adding to my day.
4.I am going to move one of the snow shovels to inside the house so we have access to it
5.I am cancelling plans to get together with a friend on Sunday. This was by mutual agreement because their weekend got packed with stuff too.
6. I am going to go around the property and make sure I don’t have anything that could get blown around in a high wind. I am going to secure the garbage cans and double check the lights.
7. I am going to find our hats, gloves, scarf, and snow boots.
If we are already for it, it will not come. I have done this for a couple of years now and the only time we got hit was when I blew off getting ready for the storm.
I am grateful for silly plans that make me feel a little more in control.
