Guy Fawkes Day is not celebrated here in the US. I am sure if the liquor companies could find a way to tie into it, we would be celebrating it will liquor. For most Americans, their impressions of Guy Fawkes is from ‘V for Vendetta’. I learned about it when I went on my anglophile kick in high school. To me it seems more about independent thought and thumbing one’s nose at authority. The British government can feel like Big Brother at times. I think I am going to pull out my copy of ‘V for Vendetta’ to read this evening.

Not as much done today as I would like but I am hoping to get more done this evening. Just need to get over this tired that has settled into my bones.

I am grateful for fun stuff around the house.

Just so you know, it's never referred to as Guy Fawkes day, but rather, Bonfire Night. (As part of the celebrations, usually only public ones, a bonfire is built and a "guy" made from stuffed clothes is thrown onto it).

We had a nice little evening. It's more about letting off fireworks than celeberating or remembering the plot. At least for us. Big bangs are FUN
