And how painful it can be but you push through because you are having too much fun.

We did six shows yesterday. We started at 10 and finishing in time for the tug of war challenge (PTA vs. Teachers) at 2:40. The kids loved it. The parents loved it. The teachers loved it. We even got a special thanks from the principle of the school for all our hard work.

The story we used was “The true story of the three little pigs” by Jon Scieszka which is told from the Wolf’s point of view and his explanation of what happened. It has delightful wonderfully dark and twisted illustrations by Lane Smith who has done a number of books with Mr. Scieszka.

I was the three pigs, the policemen (2) and the reporters(2) along with the bad wolf dancers (2). Ariel was the narrator and the question asker. Ray, the librarian and fellow puppeteer, was Al T. Wolf, Ron the Firefighter who wants to be a rapper and Babs the cheerleader. We managed to make the space work. I have worked in tighter spaces and we had only one incident of prop injury. That’s pretty good.

Caroline’s team won first place and she is very proud of her blue ribbon. According to her teachers, she was very enthusiastic and cheered everyone on. She also showed some decent athletic ability. That kid can run.

Today my shoulders are a bit sore. Putting my arm above my head is not my favorite activity but it is not too bad. My knees are protesting a bit but I expected that.

But I have a warm happy feeling from the cheers and applause of the crowd. I have a good feeling because the teachers and principle know who I am and appreciate that I participate in the PTA and in the school as a volunteer. And we beat the teachers at tug of war. I had to pick a few splinters out of my palm but nothing serious.

I am grateful that it was such a nice day for the whole family and that I got through all the shows with minimal arm and hand cramping.

Uh oh. She'll want to use that to chase horses.

Seriously, good for her! And that's a fun book. And and it's good to hear y'all having the fun.
