Friday is Cartoon Night

Here in the David Household, we have declared Friday night as Cartoon Night. It started when we were watching Batman:Brave & the Bold, Star Wars, and Ben 10. Now that those are in repeats we were watching Astro Boy, Gargoyles, Speed Racer, and Johnny Quest. Tonight we are giving Iron Man try. The animation style is taking a little getting use to but it's not a bad redo on the myth.

Caroline loves cartoon night. She climbs into Peter's lap and snuggles down and watched cartoon with us. It is her favorite evening of the week.

Yesterday Caroline's Daisy Troop went to the central police station were we had a tour of the local 911 center. It was fascinating to see how the call center worked. They are busier in the summer but that makes sense since there is a lot more people on the Island during the summer. Caroline wanted to see the K-9 patrol but they were training and the police dog that is the public dog was out on a call.

I am grateful that Caroline is a Girl Scout.

My good friend runeshower was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader when her daughter wallballgirl was younger and a Scout. It was good for both of them, and the program, I thought, was better in many ways than the equivalent for Cub and Boy Scouts.

I'm happy for you and Caroline.

(And 'Yay!' for Jonny Quest (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonny_Quest), the greatest adventure cartoon series of my childhood, and of the '60s in general!)
