Snow Far Snow Good

The roads are nothing I would want to travel on but in an emergency we could travel on them. Peter shoveled the walk and a path to the doors while I took care of the mess that the plows left in our driveway. The car is still a mess, but that would be no more than sweeping the snow off of the car and we would be ready to go depending on how much more snow we are going to be getting today. Predictions are between another 2 to 5 inches. We have been informed by a party that we trust that it will be closer to two for us.
So we are house bound today. School was cancelled because the local government asked everyone to stay off the roads unless you had to go out. Ariel and Caroline are having a “Movie Day” in Ariel’s room. They will emerge for lunch and dinner but plan to spend the rest of the day together watching various films and cartoons. They haven’t done this in ages.
Peter’s website was moved last night but not because of anything that had been happening but something that was going to be done about three months ago but had been delayed for various reasons. My site that is attached to Peter’s migrated as well but I think the old web address will get you there and if you are reading this off that site then you found me. My Live Journal is not going to be going anywhere. The nasty comments have died down to just a few and I am staying off most of the rest of the Internet for a week or two. I believe in Live Journal even after all that has happened in the past week.
I have three weeks to LunaCon so I should get cracking on those projects I had for that show. I have most of my schedule for it. I also have what I am going to be doing for I-Con I think. A couple more e-mails on that one until that is locked down.
Well the rate of the snow has picked up again. But our larder is stocked and we have heat so it’s not that bad.
What will be interesting is what happens tomorrow to schools and such.
I am grateful for sites that migrated with (knock on wood) few problems.

Date: 2009-03-02 05:24 pm (UTC)I've got a fair amount of work to do before Lunacon, as well. The flying pig is bigger than I thought, so I'm going to have to have most of it done before the con. Half the head from cutting out, putting together, attaching to neck, turning the pig, attaching wings, stuffing, finishing--that sounds like a reasonable demo, yes? There may not be time for all of that, but if I can get through attaching one wing, I'll call it good.
I'm still deciding about I-Con, but it's probably a yes.

Date: 2009-03-02 09:04 pm (UTC)What a fun idea! I need to do that one of these days. I used to have a few friends over and do a "theme" of movies. For example, one year we watched the Gilliam Trilogy (Time Bandits, Brazil, Baron Munchhausen) and another year, we hung out with nuns (Sound of Music, Nuns on the Run, and Sister Act. Heh.)
Regarding website migration - I'm just amazed at how fast propagation is these days. Instead of having to wait 24-48 hours, sites are usually showing up properly within an hour.

Date: 2009-03-02 10:44 pm (UTC)I'm also glad that you had no troubles moving the website. When I moved my website from one hosting company to another, I lost everything. I left it down for a long time. And, I'm only just now getting interested in putting it back up. So, again, glad nothing like that happened to you guys.
