When I woke up this morning, I looked out my bedroom window and saw that the snow that was predicted for last night had not fallen. But there was a little more white where the ice was still on the lawn. About half an hour later, the driveway was covered with a coat of snow and now, about half an hour after that, the snow is sticking everywhere and coming down in large flakes.

We have four cats. Three live upstairs and one lives downstairs in the office. Treat use to be an upstairs cat but in his old age he has gotten cranky and doesn't care to have other cats around. We have been slowly re-introducing Treat and the other cats. First we locked the other cats up in the dining room and let Treat up into the living room. The cats could see each other but there was no interaction. After a while we let Treat up while the other cats were out. We gave Treat an escape route back to the office if he wanted it. It went pretty well until one of the other cats got a little territorial and Treat retreated to the office. Since then we have been given Treat the opportunity to come up and be with the rest of the herd and it has not been totally smooth but pretty good over all. Our biggest problem right now is keeping him out of the other cats' food dish since he is on a diet.

Last night bowling went OK but not great so I ended up cleaning the living room out of frustration from throwing my arm across my body and dumping the ball where it didn't need to go. Today I am going to work on something creative either by writing or sewing. I am not going to be going out unless it is to clear the walk. I don't mind the snow but the wind chill will chill one to the bone.

I am grateful for a starting point.

Cat integration issues can be tricky. My oldest died a few months ago after 19 years of being with me and one of them, for lack of a better description, went into the wild. They all got out one night and he decided not to come back. We see him around once in a while but he won't come near us. Apparently he likes it out there and has since joined a gang of feral cats. The next oldest is my hybrid at twelve years old. He's always been good with kittens. The 'baby' of the cat herd is Rain at seven years. Well, we were feeling the lack of cats so we got a four month old kitten.

They both hate him and the poor little guy has no one to play with. We've tried everything and there is just no reconciling them. They aren't mean to each other (unless you count the two older cats curling up together and then driving off the young one) but they don't mesh.

It's cold here too --- 28 degrees, which is cold for even this part of Florida.

Hope you find a creative outlet; I know what it's like when the practical takes over and you don't have enough time or inclination for it.

We don't have the snow, but we are definitely feeling the cold in Atlanta. When I started my car this morning it was 9 degrees.
