So we have a winter storm heading to our area. Lots of snow is forecast for everywhere but here. Long Island, yet again, get that lovely cold wet rain and possibly some sleet but no snow or nothing to write home about. I am starting to agree with Ariel that someone has cast an anti-snow spell in the area so all we get is cold rain. And I know that is what we are going to get since I have stocked the larder and we have all the makings for french toast.

In better news, the regulators at Consumer Protection have agreed that maybe the law was a little broad and are making changes as we speak so that a lot of small business owners and thrift stores don't go out of business. Kudos to T.A. Chapin for pointing me to a more recent article on the situation. At least someone realized what the ramifications of what the law would have meant.

Most of the college bowls went against me in terms of my mental picks but I did have the Gators to win. My picks for this weekend in the playoffs are Titans, Steelers, Eagles, Cardinals. I think it is going to be Eagles vs. the Steelers in an old fashion smack down match in the Superbowl and my final pick is going to depend on who is still walking after all the playoffs. Yeah, I know I am throw the Giants under the bus but they didn't prove much to me in the last couple weeks of the season other than Eli sometimes forgets what color jersey he is suppose to throw to.

I have 6 beanbags done and 4 to go. I am going to finish those, design my puppet for the jam, laundry, and finish a doll before I pick Caroline up at the bus stop this afternoon.

I am grateful for the government realize that they have thrown the baby out with the dangerous bath water.

Steelers vs Eagles would be like a dream come true around here. It's been a big party in the last few years when each respectively went to the Superbowl. I'd love a chance to bring out my Super Steelers Pasta Salad once again (made with black bow-tie pasta, chunks of mozzarella, and yellow and red peppers-- was quite a hit!)

It would be a win-win to me either way should they face off.

I think Long Island and Lexington are getting the same weather patterns. A long, very wet, muddy winter. What little snow we get is only visible in the air, since it melts on the ground. Anytime it's cold enough to stick, there's warmer air up high, and we get freezing rain.

This is not the winter I love. :(
