I have to admit I am glad that I haven't had one of these in a while. I have had headaches of various forms from sinus pressure to head connecting with hard object. But I haven't had what I call a screaming eagle in a while. Right now my head feels like an eagle is trying to pull my brains out with his talons from the front while the sound of its screams rings in my ears. I went to bed with a slight headache that was annoying but woke up with this beast. I have taken some asprin and hope that between that and some coffee in my system even if it doesn't go totally away, it will at least reduce to a dull roar.

I do suffer from tinnitus, which seems to be worse than usual this morning to where I have to push past the ringing in my ears to concentrate on ambient sound like crickets, cats and birds. Once the headache subsides, I have a feeling sound will return back to its usual balance.

Until then I put myself on autopilot and write things down to remember them. I know this morning I have to pack Caroline's lunch, get her dressed, check her homework, and get her off to the bus. The rest of the day will be dependant on how my brain pan feels. I do need to go to the store at some point for a few things but I am going to take it easy until I can think more clearly.

I am grateful that the headache is not worse than it is.

*empathizes* I've had my share of screaming eagles, as well. I also suffer from tinnitus, due to a vestibular imbalance, on an almost daily basis, in varying degrees... sometimes accompanied by vertigo and nausea. On mild days, it's merely disorienting and distracting. It first manifested as a fear of down escalators and heights, which I eventually conquered. I continued to have difficulty balancing on a bike. The hearing loss was gradual at first. I'd had many ear infections throughout my life, but two years ago while recuperating from a severe illness, possibly scarlet fever, the room began to spin. Even laying on the bed, I felt as if the bed was rotating like a carnival wheel... you know the ones that the knife-throwers use? I could barely crawl to the bathroom. The official diagnosis is labyrinthitis. For a former dancer and musician, this disorder is particularly soul-crushing. I can't be sure of my pitch when I sing, and I used to have perfect pitch without sheet music. I'm gradually retraining my muscles to compensate for my imbalance, but I'll never regain the poise and grace that I once had. Right now, the one fear I have is related to learning how to drive, actually.

Anyway, gotta run. I just wanted to give you a hug and sympathy, and I hope that you feel better once you are fully-caffeinated.

I hate those. I get them on occasion as part of the fibro and they're very difficult to get rid of if you have to keep moving around.

Hope you feel better soon!
