Today the Supreme Court starts a new session. This year the docket looks a little light but it is an election year. The more important piece of the legal puzzle is that the next president will be nominating for a number of positions on the bench. There are a couple of cases that look interesting including the FCC vs. Fox about obscenity on the FCC's policy about "fleeting expletives" which the FCC has ramped up with absurd fines. In this case Bono used a choice word during the Golden Globes and Fox got hit for a lot of money. There are a number of cases that go back to the people being detained after September 11th 2001. It has taken 7 years for their cases to make it to the Supreme Court.

On to Monday Morning Quarterbacking

Giants are 4 and 0 for the first time in a long time. They have it together this year even when they sit people for bad behavior and lose a couple to injury. The Seahawks didn't lose, they got pounded. Jets had the week off. The Bills lost their Quarterback to a concussion. There is supposes to be more information today about how long he will be out. I am amazed at the number of starting QBs that have gone out this year.

Titans are the only other undefeated team this year. The Falcons won against the Packers who I think are still sorting themselves out. I thought the Bengels had a chance to bring it this year according to the pundits and they are in a basement.

In baseball, what do you want to bet that every night the Fox sports executives are praying for a Dodgers/Red Soxs World series? In the national league we now have the Dodgers vs. the Phillies. And it looks like it is going to be the Red Soxs vs. the Rays but I want the Red Soxs vs. the White Soxs because I find that amusing.

I am grateful for court reporting in the News.

Well, Fox is at least assured of one major metro area in the Series. I'm sure their nightmare scenario was Tampa Bay-Milwaukee.

Red Sox - Dodgers would be amusing if for no other reason than the Dodgers are close to being Red Sox West with such notable former Sox as Lowe, Nomar, and, oh yeah, Manny on the roster...oh yeah, and that Torre guy has a different sort of history with the Sox. : -)

Are you guys from New York? lol. My dad likes the Giants too :)

He was very happy they won yesterday. Maybe this could be their year to win.

I have learned a few things from the NFL this season.

You can't predict it...don't even try. You will be wrong. You stand a better chance if you guess.

This makes it a lot of fun as the unpredictability is exciting.

The NFC East does not have a bad team in it. Not one. One of them will have to lose a lot, but none of them are bad teams.

The Giants schedule has been pretty soft except for the 'Skins and they are doing what good teams do and beating the teams they are supposed to beat.

FOX wants LA in the series so bad they can taste it. They need the other coast involved. The best scenario for Fox is Dodgers/Red Sox. 2nd best Dodgers/Tampa Bay.

Worst case scenario Phillies/Tampa Bay. 2 east cost teams and only one a major TV market. Ugh.

You know they've got their fingers crossed on this one.
