A Very Faire Day

We did go to the New York Renaissance Faire yesterday. We all had fun. Caroline saw a gypsy puppet show; a bunch of jugglers/balancers; and a live chess game. She rode a pony and I have a great picture of her in the stocks. The puppet show was pretty clever over all. I can't watch one without analyzing both the puppets and the operators but their target audience (Caroline) was laughing and participating so they did well indeed. She enjoyed the Chess game and asked some questions about who we should be cheering for. We had mixed feelings because we like the Sheriff even though he is the villain of the piece. Queen Elizabeth even got into the mix and showed both some fancy foot work in an absurd hoopskirt along with some skill with the blade. We couldn't stay for the last joust but that was OK.

Today I am all about the yard work that needs to be done. I really need to get part of the side yard tamed since it is thinking about climbing up the house which is never a good thing. I also want to prep the front for the Halloween decorations early this year so I have less to do when I want to put the decorations out. I might even get the time to carve a couple of new tombstones to put in the "graveyard".

Well that and the laundry which I can do while chopping bushes. I figure if I can get both done, I am ahead of the game this week.

I am grateful for the joy on Caroline's face as she did various things at the Faire.

If it is as beautiful where you are as it is here in Massachusetts, then yard work will be a joy! What a perfect fall day!

Need to overseed the lawn, but I probably won't get to that until the coming weekend. Hope it doesn't get too cold too soon.
