Caroline returns to school for her first full week
Yeah, there is going to be a lot of posts about Caroline probably for the next month or so as I adjust to not having her around all day. She got on the School Bus this morning happy to be going back to school. She enjoyed her weekend but she was ready to get back to class.
The State of the House
I did get my medicine cabinet sorted out and all the things that needed to go away or tossed. Next will be the scary cabinet where we shove everything that we don't have a place for or the scary drawer of kitchen stuff we don't really use that often.
I plan on that and some more work in the living room. Like recovering my desk from the mess that I created looked for a disk to repair the Internet connection. It turns out that it was something so simple as plugging the cable into the correct port. So I feel like seven kinds of an idiot for not figuring that out. *sigh*
Sports
Yes, it is the return of the Monday Morning Quarterback and other sports stuff.
College football didn't impress me much. The games went pretty much the way I thought they would. I am wondering why OSU is ranked 5 and not 3. I do pity the Notre Dame fans. They are going to have a very long season this year.
Mets won 1 of 3 and they had to win at least one or we would have been looking at last September all over again. I can't say I am happy with the pattern of getting a whole bunch of hits at the beginning of the game and praying that the score holds in our favor by the ninth. But they are still in it right now.
I have to say that I have not been paying attention with all the travel, but what happened to the Yankees this year?
I'm betting that the Pat fans are in mourning this morning since Tom Brady is out for the season and, depending on how bad it is, might be out for good. Now the Patriots are scrambling for a new quarterback.
Giants won and look pretty good. But the game of the day for me was the Jets vs. the Dolphins. When a game comes down the last 5 seconds and it could have gone either way on that last pass, you have a good game. The Jets came out strong in the first half and started to weaken in the second but they held on for the win.
My Birthday
Which is tomorrow. I will be 45 years old. Peter and I are going to a signing he is doing at Midtown Comics and part of the deal is a cake and the staff sings Happy Birthday to me. Should be fun and will be different.
I am grateful that Caroline was so eager to go to school this morning.
