David Family Vacation Day 1 2008

puppetmakerWe decided that driving from Toronto to Atlanta was much shorter than back home and then to Atlanta. We would probably have less than a day before we would be packing up and back on the road again. So we chose to look at this as a family vacation which we really haven't had this summer.
We left Toronto and headed for Niagara Falls because I wanted to show Caroline the falls. After some construction snafus that the Garmin guided us around, we arrived there. It was as magnificent as I remember. We had lunch and poked around a bit.
From there we went to Marineland. We had been to the one in St. Augustine. This one was much bigger than this. We lucked into a good schedule. When we got in, we saw the seal and dolphin show. Then we went to the Orca tank where we were splashed not once or twice but three times. But we did get to watch the trainers close up. Soaking wet we wandered to the Beluga tank where Ariel fulfilled a dream and petted a whale. Caroline did too and declared Isis the Beluga whale her new best friend. We went and feed the deer. We saw a lot of animals.
We left the park very happy.
The crossing back to the US took a lot less time than I thought it would. About 5 questions and we were back in the US.
We drove towards at Atlanta as far as we could safely and found a nice motel to spend the night in.
I am grateful for special experiences with my family.
