I haven't done this in a while and I know I picked some new readers.

So Ask Me A Question.

I will state that there are subjects I prefer not to talk about and there are other subjects I can't including those I have signed an NDA on or Peter has signed one on. So please understand if I say that I can't answer that.

I am grateful for questions.

You may have already answered this, but what's your favorite puppet? What's your cutest puppet, or the cutest one you ever worked with?

Hmmmm Hard to answer since I think of them all as my children.

But two stand out Peliquin from Nightbreed which is currently with Barker and little Morphy which is currently in Neil's collection.

Gee why don't you ask me why I breath?

Puppets have just been for me since I was 2. My mother said that I played with a Wizard of OZ set from Downey and I have been playing with Puppets ever since I can remember.

Puppets just are for me.

Nope it has to do with water rights and access to a shoreline that doesn't freeze up in the winter.

What movie do you absolutely adore, and can watch over and over again, yet you know it's really a bad film?

Hmmmmmm Not easy to answer.

I mean Buckoo Banzai is not a tour de force but it is a fun film. But it has a cult following. And I love that film.

But I think for the win is has to be Deathrace 2000. There are parts of that I wince while watching but it is good stupid fun.

What did you bribe Matt Lewis with to come to the ball, and can you do it again? ;)

Okay, more seriously, how involved do you think parents should be in what their kids are reading, and where do you set limits, if any?

Matt came by to wish Ariel a Happy Birthday and I then escorted him to the Ball. I think kudos go to Bev on this one.

I think parents should know what their kids are reading and in this household we do set limits. There were books that Ariel was not allowed to read until she was older. We figured that the subject material was not appropriate yet for her. Now we are a lot less stringent. And we will do the same for Caroline.

How long have you been active online?

Oh that is a big ol' it depends.

If you count back to college mainframes talking to each other, then 1981. If you are talking Internet then 1991.

Ooo, proto-Net! The internet wasn't really a part of my life until college, meaning I got into it 'round 1992, but I was vaguely aware of it beforehand (mainly thanks to Arthur C. Clarke writing about and using it in the 80s).

Revised questions, then: How were you using the college mainframes in 1981? And what was the first online community you got heavily involved in (whether in the 80s or 90s)?
