With a couple of small trips for the rest of the month before Peter goes to Wizard World Chicago and then the summer explodes with travel but that is how our year tends to go. Fall and Winter are much quieter on the convention circuit but starting with Memorial Day, things go back into full gear.
The ballgame was nice and made much nicer by the Mets winning. I'm going to miss Shea Stadium. The weather was just perfect for a ballgame. Not too hot but not too cold with a nice breeze to make it feel fresh. Fewer planes flying overhead, if any, which was strange to me until I remember that this was an ESPN broadcast not a local broadcast so they may have slightly rerouted traffic. Great seats too.
The rest of the convention was nice too. Again I got to catch up on news with people I have known for years and a few I just met. I got my plush Liam from Mouse Guard signed by David Petersen. And generally had a good time. We did have cheese steaks while we were there. And some great cookies too. Ariel said that if she goes to school in Philly for college she is going to the Market on Market Street for some fresh looking produce.
Now onto some other projects that need to get done. I also need to sit down and figure out what I am making for DragonCon this year for the art show.
There are a couple of other things rattling around in my brain.
I know I need to do a New Who Review for "The Poison Sky" which may happen tomorrow I think.
I had a couple of interesting discussions with different types of artists at the convention that has got me to thinking about some issues with art and the artist.
Clairmont and Peter gave me a whole topic from their panel with Greg which was called Legends in Comics not Grand Masters which is what I called it yesterday.
But those are down the line. Right now I am going to pick up and put away from this convention and then get back to a project that has been back-burnered since NYCC.
Well that and catching up on my e-mail and journal reading. I am waaaay behind so if you send me something you needed a reply to in the past month then ping me again because I have a lot of wade throug.
I am grateful that we made it home safely and I got to see the cats look up at me with the expression "And you are?"
