I think the walls of a house describe the people within them. Behind the cut is a rather photo heavy look at the first floor of my house.

This is over my desk and one of the first places you see when you enter our house. The large Hershfield is an original print with his signature on it. It was a gift from my parents to me when I graduated from the Yale School of Drama. The Masks are from Cirque Du Soliel. The awards are from various costume contests. The animation cell is from Oliver and Company and is the dog that Billy Joel portrayed. There is a Labyrinth poster and an original painting by Gwen.

Continuing over my desk which I keep mementoes of things Peter and I have done. The small painting is from Peter's Novel "Sir Apropos of Nothing". The Dora poster is Caroline's so she has something in the living room that is hers. The Spiderman poster was created for Peter's first issue of Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman.

This is a closer shot of the stuff over my desk. I made the cat mask for a show I was stage managing. Below it is an original piece of Brian Froud art work from the movie Labyrinth. Above it is the Silver Surfer that Moebius did for me when Peter and I were in France for our first anniversary. To the left is a promo poster for the 3rd season of the Muppet show. To the right is my fairies calendar.

This is over one of the two couches in the living room. The sword is Sting by Master Replicas. It glows blue and makes cool sounds. The painting is the cover to Peter's novel "The Woad to Wuin" which was the second Apropos Book. The Dora poster is Caroline's so she has something in the living room that is hers. The Spiderman poster was created for Peter's first issue of Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman.

This is next to the front door. One of Peter's favorite movies is the Great Mouse Detective and these are two original cells from the movie of Ratagan which was played with great villainy by Vincent Price.

This is the wall behind the front door. At AlbaCon they had the artists draw something from a passage from Peter's latest book at the time which was Fall of Knight. We got all three at the art auction and put them up in the living room. We had to raise them after one of the cats tried to use the lower one as a scratching post.

This is on the way up the stairs to the second floor. This is an original character sketch from the original Fantasia. We have a lot of both Disney and Warner Brothers animated pieces all through the house since we do love both animation companies.

This is on the wall on Caroline level in the living room. It is one of her drawing on a post-it. She has done a number of these and they are spread all through the house.

This is the wall next to the doors into the Dining room. We have a another cell from the Great Mouse Detective, our Disney Wall clock, Peter's first bowling plaque, the record of his 800 series, some photos by Gwen, a shadow cut out of Ariel and Shana and the thermostat for the downstairs part of the house.

This is the one piece of art that survives in the Dining Room since we added all the bookshelves (and we still need more room). It is an original character pencil sketch done for Disney's Pinocchio.

This is in the entry on the way to Peter's office. This is an original George Perez drawing that he did after the infamous Peter David vs. Todd McFarlan debate at a comic convention. Peter mopped the floor with Todd. This picture ran in the CBG.

This is another picture that is in the entrance to Peter's Office. It is an actual cell from the Tiny Toons series and one of Peter's favorite sequences in that episode.

This signed poster from the Goodspeed production of "Man of La Mancha" resides in the kitchen. It is one of Peter's favorite plays.

This is an added bonus being one of our bedroom walls but it has one of our more interesting pieces of art that is not in Peter's Office. The Black and silver picture is the cover of Peter's book "But I Digress". The artist is Neil Gaiman and it is a pen and ink drawing. The 3-D Phoenix we got a DragonCon a number of years ago.

If you have any questions about things in the photographs, please feel free to ask me.

I hope you enjoyed your tour of the walls in my house.

She loves post-it notes. Give her a stack of those and a Sharpie and she is good to go and create her own art gallery on one of the walls. She has them all over her mirror in her room. *grin*

It reminds me of Yoda. Did she explain who/what it's supposed to be?

It is suppose to be an elf according to her.

Our walls are mostly blank except the basement which is my space.

We'll eventually hang some of the framed jigsaw puzzes on some of the walls, but we're still not there yet.

Is it bad I haven't hung up the mirror we bought 4 months ago?

Okay, you pretty much have the most awesome walls ever. It makes me envious, I need to put more meaningful objects up on my walls so I can have them around me all the time.

Funny thing, I'm reading The Dark Tower: the Gunslinger Reborn right now. Well, not right now, because my boss probably wouldn't like that, but still.

Dark Tower kicks A**

We have something from that I keep meaning to get framed and up in the living room. Just haven't gotten around to it yet

I think I just nerdgasmed over your entire post. Wow

You have the coolest walls ever. The original drawing from Fantasia...oh my god. That's so cool. And Neil Gaiman did the art for your husband's book?! Gah. You guys are pretty much the coolest people I've ever seen.

If my boyfriend knew that I even remotely knew you and your husband is Peter David, I think he would pee himself on the spot. He's the biggest Marvel fan I've ever known in my life, and Spiderman takes precedence over me, I think.

You have the coolest geek collection I have seen in forever... *grin* I especially dig that Caroline has added her art all over *grin*

I like that she feels free to add her art to the place.

Yeah we do have a pretty cool art collection

I used to be that way at home; I had so many posters and pictures on my bedroom walls, it was pretty much impossible to see the walls at ALL. Now I find myself being far more selective about what goes up there, and worrying about the paintwork :P

When you own the house, then you don't have to worry about the deposit.

All I know is that eventually I plan to repaint the living room which means I have to take care of all the damage I have done to the walls so far *grin*

They are so much fun. :)

This is brought to mind by packing up my place after a decade in it. I know Peter's been in that house for at least a couple of decades now, and you mentioned new bookcases in the dining room. How are y'all handling the increasing amount of stuff y'all make and accumulate? By reclaiming a room every few years when one of the girls leaves the nest? : -)

Oh this is SUCH a case of don't ask don't tell.

We know we have too much stuff and are just starting to deal with the amount of it that we have accumulated. It doesn't help that I inherited the pack-rat gene from my maternal grandmother. *grin*

I drooled over the Neil Gaimen artwork, the original Disney sketches and cels, and adore your daughter's post-it.

But the Froud artwork makes me ded from teh jellusee. I LOVE his work so much.

Awesome walls. :c)

If I was doing stuff as well I might have pictures of the mask and the axes I have from Labyrinth but they are in the trophy case which is not a wall.

Thanks.

I am inspired; I might take some pictures of my own walls. :)

I love Great Mouse Detective, too! It was probably my real introduction to mysteries, on which I would be forever hooked. :)

It is interesting to look at your walls through a camera lens. I encourage it. It is also motivating some spring cleaning on my part because I could see what a mess parts of the living room are. *grin*

I have always loved the Great Mouse Detective. One of the first presents I got Peter was an original movie poster for it.

I love the post-it drawing and the Dora poster--they look like they should be out of place, what with everything else in the living room, but they fit in perfectly!

That is sort of our house. Since I was just doing the walls, you don't see the top of the bookcases that have just tons of things that don't seem to go together but just do. Like I have a V mask that I have propped up under Peter's King Arthur crown.

Some amazing stuff. Of course Peter has some fabulous taste.

I gotta ask though... is there a specific reason why you didn't mention/point out the Angel puppet!??

Ummm, it's not on the wall?

If Gary ever does "Shelves" I would have SUCH an entry *grin*.

I only wish we had more of the original artwork in our possession up.

There there.

I know I am so lucky to have such cool stuff.

The Froud drawing I got before Brian really knew what his art work was worth. Neil gave the drawing to Peter since they are such good friends.

Peter has been collecting Disney stuff for years. I'm still finding things that he had forgotten that he owned. The Fantasia piece had been in a closet!
