I got to visit with my dentist around noon. We have a super dentist. He couldn't touch the tooth without me jumping out the chair. After a couple shots of Novocain, he managed to numb it down to winces rather than jumps and he can work with winces.

I have a fractured tooth. I even know when it happened which was a couple of months ago when Caroline's head connected with my mouth in a bone chilling crunch. I though everything was OK since all my teeth were still there. Apparently there was a crack and now the tendon that holds the tooth in place is inflamed and I have an infection in my upper jaw. He got most of the infection out and put a drain in to let the rest seep out. He has me on a number of medicines to kick the infection before he can fix the tooth.

All this may explain why my energy has been in the bottom of the barrel. I knew I was running a low fever off and on for a while now but I put it down to allergies and the like. Last night was really the first decent night sleep I have gotten in a while. So we'll see what happen.

Today is figuring out what needs to be done to restock the larder and a few other household chores to get the house back on a even keel after a convention.

I am grateful for my dentist.

Eek! Cracked teeth are awful, but your dentist sounds wonderful. Hope the meds have you feeling better asap!! That low level pain and infection and fever is one of those things that's just an energy and mood-killer.

Thanks. Just getting a good nights sleep was a big help. So far I have been feeling good enough that I haven't had to hit the heavy drugs for pain.

Yay!!! Between sleep and having it drained that probably helped the pain a lot. *fingers crossed* And sleep is one of those things you don't realize how much you do need it until you finally get it. *wry smile*

Yes it does. He is one of the best on Long Island. He is well known for his reconstructive dentistry.

Glad you are feeling better.

It does sound like the infections was screwing you up. I'm glad it was found before you ended up sicker.

Be well.

Take it as easy as you can.

*HUG*

Ouchie Ouchie. I had all four of mine taken out at once under my father's dental insurance before I fell out of coverage.

Thanks. I am being obsessive about taking my meds as directed because I want to kill this infection.

Blargh!

Hope it heals up quickly; glad you got it taken care of. (By an odd coincidence, I have a dental appointment today myself. Just a cleaning, though.)

I'll cross my fingers that it is just a cleaning. Teeth are funny things. I am so glad we live in a country with good dental care.

I've always been lucky with my teeth *knocks on Wood*. The only cavity I ever had was when my wisdom teeth were crowding two other teeth so badly I couldn't clean between them.

...then again, all four wisdom teeth had to come out, two of them because they were badly impacted, so I guess it all evens out.

Hoooly cats! Kudos to your dentist for getting you taken care of so thoroughly and so quickly. I know your body will certainly appreciate the rest from fighting the infection. Hugs to you!

OUCH. Mega ouch. I'm glad it's being sorted out, though. Tooth problems are the worst.

Ow! I'm glad to hear you're feeling better already. Will you need anything else done to it?

My cracked tooth was painful to bite down on but otherwise no problem. However, that's the same tooth that just required a root canal, so maybe it was delayed reaction.
