Someone told me that the Catholic church decided that St. Patrick's Day would be on the 15th rather than the 17th because Palm Sunday is the 16th and that would put the party during Holy Week. Did anyone else get the memo on this?

Today is 3.14, anyone else going to have pi(e)?

I have my schedule for LunaCon but it may not be the final one. If you want to find me, try my panels or the art show. I should be at the art show reception which I believe is this evening except when I will be making tribbles.

Peter has a very busy schedule at Wizard World LA but he will be at his table when he is not on panels. Be sure you say Hi if you are going there.

We are looking forward to this weekend.

I am grateful for conventions.

Oddly enough, yes, the Church did move St. Pat's Day to the 15th because of Holy Week. The last time this sort of thing happened was back in 1940 when they moved it to April 3rd.

Of course, this isn't stopping NYC for having their parade on the actual day this year (http://nyc-st-patrick-day-parade.org).

Actually today (the 14th ) is St. Patricks day and tomorrow (the 15th) is St. Josephs. They cannot be celebrated during Holy Week. Actually there are no celebrations of saints during Holy Week ever. We even got dispensation to have meat today
;-D

The Hibernians were told about it but decided to have the parade on the 17th anyway.

In Utah, holidays are routinely moved off of Sundays. So New Year's Eve 2007 was officially celebrated in the city of St. George a day early, with a traditional countdown and everything on the wrong night. :P

Have fun at Lunacon!

I don't about moving St. Patty's day, but [livejournal.com profile] tantra_catposted the Wiki article about Pi day in her journal (http://tantra-cat.livejournal.com/139424.html?mode=reply), and it was really fun to read.

I didn't get a change to write anything about Pi Day. Fridays are just to busy for me these days.
