The Pats won but it was never a gimme until late in the fourth quarter when the Giants seems to have been hit in the head with a large bat and lost their focus. A couple of strange calls all through the game by the officials but especially in the fourth quarter. The Giants did put up one heck of a fight and should be proud of what they did. Now they just have to shut down the Bucks and move forward. Peter watched the game with me and followed it. I'm so proud, I taught my husband about football.
Woke up with a headache I would not wish on my worst enemy. Can't track down the source of it since I did all the cooking and meal prep for yesterday. Might be a little too little Caffeine in the system. So I am drinking a large mug o' coffee today. Going to take Ariel for boots since that will keep the snow away for a while longer.
I loaded a bunch of new music onto Ariel's Ipod for her including David Bowie, Duran Duran, Pink Floyd, Yaz (or if you are in the UK Yazoo), and Depeche Mode along with the new Sweeny Todd Sound Track as well as the original Broadway cast album. I figure with that mix, she can tell me what she likes and I can add more bands like that. The only thing I didn't add, because my copy has vanished off the face of the earth, is Pet Shop Boys Disconography.
I am grateful that Ariel is interested in the music that I have enjoyed.

Date: 2007-12-30 07:55 pm (UTC)I didn't dislike football because I'm a girl... I enjoy watching baseball and basketball very much, and grew up watching them.
A few years ago, though, I finally put my finger on *why* I disliked football.
The plays happen so fast that I can't see what's going on until it's already over, and the frustration factor led to my dislike.
I've since taken the time to watch WITH people, and have gained an appreciation for it.

On another note, I need to e-mail you later this week about Shore Leave. Is GMail still good?

A great moment in my football education was in early 2002, watching the post-9/11 Super Bowl (with Paul McCartney before the game and U2 and the tribute at halftime) at a movie theater on a HUGE screen. The theater-pub (a place that serves pizza and beer along with the usual movie food) had secured the rights to show that game to the public, for free admission. I could more easily see the plays' patterns on a screen that huge. HD at my parents' home and other big screens have helped as well.
I've never attended an NFL game -- the closest was a Dallas Cowboys scrimmage when they were in training in southern California, and I was a) like 7 years old and b) not a football fan yet -- but I want to. Qwest Field in Seattle is supposed to be a great place to watch; you're practically on top of the field, no matter where you sit.
