When this topic was announced I had to say that my stomach dropped because it was the topic that I always cover the week of Thanksgiving. I have been doing this a couple of years in my journal that for the Saturday before through Black Friday, I pause, reflect, and give thanks for all kinds of things that are important to me.

I considered using the bye this week but then something happened and the following came into my head which I have put out here for your amusement.

To the guy in the Hummer (with the STUPID wire rim tires and a very memorable vanity tag) who (without signaling) cut across 3 lanes to get to the on-ramp (which was a highly illegal move anyway because the line painting says that you are breaking the law by doing so and the next on-ramp is less than 400 feet down the road so you can safely maneuver onto the highway without hitting a traffic light) and nearly hit my little truck with my 4 year old in it (Thank the powers that be that I have very good breaks on that truck as did the SUV that was behind me). Thanks.....Thanks a Fracking Lot.

To the lady in the unfortunate faux leopard print coat at the toy store (who I saw get out of a car with a bumper sticker informing everyone that she loooved E*Bay) who grabbed four of the same toy right in front of me (which happened to be the last that that store had and is a "hot" Christmas toy this year and just happened to be one of two toys that was on my daughter's birthday list and had been since she found out about its existence) and dumped it into your cart along with a couple of other duplicates of toys that were on the Hot list in the paper the other day. And don't tell me that you didn't know that that was what I was reaching for when you made your grab.Thanks....Thanks a Freaking Lot.

[But bonus karma points and a BIG THANK YOU to the store employee who I asked if they had anymore and she told me that they didn't and asked me if I was willing to drive a little further for it. I had explained to her what had happened and why I wanted the toy. She called over to the closest related store and had them put one aside for me which was the last one there according to the manager who sold it to me and he hoped my little girl would enjoy it]

To the Little Old Lady in the very large caddy that I am betting your husband bought you before he passed on who can barely see over the steering wheel and has no idea what the turn radius or lack there of it so you nearly hit me and my car while I was putting groceries in the back to take home to feed my family. This caused me to have to jump out of the way and drop the bag I had in my hand that had eggs (note the word had) in it. You then proceeded to almost run over a mother and baby by running a stop sign in the parking lot. Thanks...Thanks a Fribbling Lot

To the anonymous idiot who has been posting on my husband's web site and making a royal pain in the tushie for the regulars but thinks they are being so clever because they are being such a pain and are so attention starved it must be hard to be them in the Real World even though (according to them) they live a wealthy and fabulous life with lots of friends. (But I hate to inform you that Second Life is not reality.....yet). For making me fume because of the policy we have not censoring people without warning (and I would love to make you see what you are doing is wrong and sad on so many levels.) Thanks...Thanks a Frelling Lot.

To the drama queen who has made it impossible for me to enjoy a couple (yeah it was bad enough you showed up on one of my groups are you following me now?) of groups I use to be long to. And if called on your shenanigans, you inform the group how much your life sucks and how you ALMOST DIEEEED 11111!!!!1111111 So I am the biggest meanie in the world for asking you to get your facts straight especially when it is about people I know who know me and (with a majority) I am friends with so some of the information I have that you are wrong I can't say because it was told to me by the friend but when I google and prove your pet theory totally bull*s**t you are right back to me being a big bully. Also cluttering up the list with your latest health crisis (real or imagined) or another relative dead or dying (I lost count, how many mothers and foster mothers and step mothers DO you have?) is not endearing you to me especially since I have close friends lose those important people in their lives this year and I WENT TO THE FUNERALS (I have been to entirely too many funerals and wakes and memorial services this year). Thanks....Thanks a Flipping Lot

To all the idiots and asshats that have made my life a living heck, Thanks....Thanks a f**cking lot.

Call this Bonus material as it were. This entry sounds like something I'd have written on what I call an "idiot day". Fun and hope life is better!

I live in a valley.. we get valley cloud in winter, it hovers over and doesn't leave.

Every now and again we also get a cloud of stupid that rolls into the valley and doesn't leave for a week.

Looks like the cloud of stupid ended up in the US this week :D

Smile. And it seems like stupid is magnified at the holidays. Best to stay tucked in the house and shop online...but not from the E Bay woman!

I once ended up behind someone like ebay woman in a toysRus. I wanted to get an action figure for a friend, and I loudly commented as they greedily stuffed every single thing off the pegs into their cart that my 5 year old niece would be going without.

I ended up with the toy, but I can't remember how. Either an employee fished one out of the back or the guy felt a pang of guilt.

One time, while shopping at a really nice shop in Vermont, I went to grab a wonderful leather bag, only to have a woman snatch it out of my hand. She said "I'm a lawyer and I need this." I snapped back, "I'm blind and need it more than you!" She gave it back! haha.

You betcha Red Rider.

I saw grown adults act like children yesterday over saving maybe 10 dollars and if it is that big a deal to their budget, maybe they need to think about giving gifts at all.

Oh this was a build up thing but the Hummer put it over the top for me yesterday and the rest just came out.

Personally I am thankful that I am alive and unhurt as is my truck considering if I had been even an inch closer the outcome would have been very different.

I like the entry as a whole. It certainly expresses your frustration.

Any comments I have about construction or format are purely my subjective prerogative, and only available upon PM request.

I shuttered at my grammar and run on sentences that I used in this one. I was trying to style it a little different so I let myself gloss over some things that normally in my writing style I do not allow.

I would be interested in what you have to say about it.

Since you asked...

My biggest comment is that it is REALLY difficult for me to read along because of the formatting. I finally resorted to using my finger so that I would not lose my place.

You might consider putting the stuff inside parenthesis in an italicized font. That way you are not breaking the flow of the construction, but it will be easier for people to stay with the paragraph as a whole. In other words, make the "asides" distinct from the narrative.

Ooo that is a good idea.

I think when Caroline takes a nap, I'll go back and edit it that way.

You are a passionate, loyal person.

Also? I would have been ticked at the eBay lady, too. In fact, you've just given me a reason to know what the purchase limit is on popular items. If, for example, she'd gone over that limit, much joy could be gained from marching up to the register as she checked out and reminding the clerk of their rule. ;o)

These were Diego Toys so there was no limit and they were on sale 14 rather than 19 dollars a piece. But you are right about that limit idea. It would have been a good one to have on these toys.

I do know that that particular toy store has a very good manager who works very hard to make sure that the "wealth" is spread around within the corporate guide line imposed on them.

Awww... Given Ian a hug and a tickle from me. *grin*

It amazes me (but it probably shouldn't) the greed of some people. This is the first toy that she has wanted (A Diego Rescue Baby Jaguar) that has been on the hot list. I got it and the rest of the pack for her for her birthday and Hanukkah. The rare ones in the group up here in New York were Baby Jaguar (hardest to find) and the Spectacle Bear with the Main Wolf Cub in third. I could find the lion, the monkey and the elephant with ease. We also got her the Diego Jumba the Elephant back in October when I first saw it and trying to find one now is like trying to find hen's teeth.

Last year at this time, I remember looking everywhere for a Fur Real Friends Jungle Cub for each child. It didn't matter which kitty they received, just that they had specifically asked Santa for it. There is precious little time left before they stop believing in miracles, and all.

My kids are fairly easy to please, and normally I avoid Black Friday like the... well, Black Plague. So I thought I was smart and tried to find them online. I managed to win the Ebay auction for one, after finding the other on Amazon or KBToys. Both arrived in plenty of time. Yule came and went, and the kids were very happy to see them under the tree. However, the one I purchased from Ebay turned out to have a broken gear, so the toy makes loud, whirring noises and doesn't move its front legs. All sales final, feedback had already been left. Thankfully, my daughter was a good sport about it, since, according to her, "Due to the population explosion, poor Santa has too much work, so he has to delegate responsibility to toy companies. He doesn't make 'all' the toys; he just delivers them." (I offered to replace it for her at a later date, but she snuggled it and said she'd keep it.)

That's a great explanation for why the toy was FUBARed.

Caroline wanted a Walkie Pony (My little Pony Walking Pony) last year and that was easy to find. I didn't think that Diego Toys were That popular but this one showed up on a local list as a Hot Toy. I have already seen some for sale on E-bay for a quick price of 40 but I don't think anyone has bitten yet.

I would love to make you see what you are doing is wrong and sad on so many levels.

That's the big problem with trolls like that - they're perfectly aware that what they're doing is wrong - but they have what is commonly referred to as Artificially Inflated Internet Balls, which basically means they wouldn't dare pull this kind of thing on you in real life, but the anonymity of the internet makes it okay.

It's aggravating, and you shouldn't have to deal with it. I had a LOT of that on the newsgroups as a rec.arts.drwho.moderated mod. The only way to deal with these people is not to feed their need for attention and/or ban their IP addresses if possible.

People are such morons. :/

I remember uncovering a similar "death" fraud in another fandom a few years back. I had to deal with a lot of skepticism from regulars who didn't believe me calling this chick on her "terminal illness" posts. But they're the ones suffering, in the end - when people do realise they've been had, she'll be the one ostracised for her stupidity.

Doing the right thing is never easy in any circumstance. But you're one of those people who knows that there are real people with real lives sitting at those keyboards. The more immature among us don't really "get" that.

I think you are right on that. But I would love for there to be an Internet license to use the internet that one's privileges get yanked if one is bring a troll. *grin*

It had to do with the parentheses being used to break up the run on sentences that I created on purpose to make it sound "angry". She suggested I format it slightly differently so that the parentheses phrases were in italics making it easer to follow.

Thanks for the compliment. I hope I get to do more silly soon
