I could write about.....

Normally I would call this a RTBTCKI but I have had a cup of coffee and am onto to my 1/2 cup so I do have some caffeine in my system.
I could write about the Mets but I don't want to soak my keyboard with any more tears. That hurt worse than if they had knocked themselves out Saturday and Sunday was just a game that didn't mean anything.
I could write about the Jets who seem to be trying to kill their chances themselves. The other team didn't win, the Jets lost allowing the other team to chalk up a win. They had so many chances and just couldn't get the job done.
I could write about the Giants who slapped the Eagles around a little on the same day that the Mets found themselves coming in second to the Phillies. That did take a little bit of the sting of the Mets loss.
I could write about Notre Dame's meltdown but I don't want to cause their fans anymore pain. I could also write about Ohio State that I keep an eye on because I was born at the hospital there when my parents were in graduate school at OSU. I could write about Georgia Tech but I don't want to be depressed but not as depressed as some Notre Dame fans are.
I could write about today being the first Monday in October and the Supreme Court starts its next session. They are tackling such issues as the legal rights of Guantanamo detainees, the constitutionality of lethal injections for executions, photo identification cards for voters and investors' struggle to find accountability in cases of fraud. Also they will be taking up the decision from a lower court that struck down a major part of the federal child porn art. The lower court said the portion in question criminalizes merely talking about illegal images rather than actual possession of those images which to me is a slippery slope that needs to be shored up.
I could write about the feeling of fall in the air that is energizing me. I love fall a lot.
I could write about Caroline's nasty cough. Poor dear, it is a hold out from the cold she developed last Wednesday after coming back from childcare where apparently another one of the kids was coughing. Now she has that lovely wet cough. At least I know it is productive. We are working on the covering of the mouth while coughing.
I could write about the bushes that I need to chop or the dolls I need to finish or the costumes I want to get started on or the dolls I want to start or the puppets that are running around in my head or how I am still trying to figure out how to sell my original work at a reasonable price.
I could write about all the paper I need to go through before Wednesday of next week (this week is plastic).
I could write about all these thing but instead I think I am going to sit here with my daughter in my lap and give her hugs and kisses and try to make her feel better.
I am grateful for so many choices in my life.

Date: 2007-10-01 10:58 pm (UTC)LaRussa got arrested in spring training for DUI. We lost two starters for most of the year due to injury/surgery, then found out late on that they were out completely. Had a player die in a tragic drunk-driving accident. Had another go to rehab for a month. Brought a wunderkind up and watched him fire the team up, only to stall when the New York papers found out he'd used HGH in 2003 for an arm injury. One guy in the on deck circle got nailed in the right eye by a foul ball. Key players kept getting hurt, playing hurt. Pitchers we got for a song and hoped could be coached into stars had repeated meltdowns. It's a bloody miracle we finished in third place. If it could go wrong, oh it did. Did it ever.
We lost our starting third baseman, left fielder, second baseman, right fielder one right after the other in September. Pujols, Edmonds and Eckstein played wounded.
But man our relief staff rocked. :)
So while I can sympathize with Mets fans a bit...you guys know nothing about bad luck. The Cards were the EPITOME of bad luck in 2007.
