Nickelodeon and the Producers of Tomb Raider present Dora Croft!

Caroline informed me two weeks ago that she wanted to do a costume too. I was in the middle of the Beastly Costumes (see previous journal entry for photo and details) She gave me some ideas of what she might want to do which of course changed day to day. Then Ariel came up with the demented idea for Dora Croft. I found the shorts and shirt at a local clothing store. Peter found the combat boots in the city. I built the gun belt and painted the squirt guns I found. We put it on Caroline and she loved her Dora costume. It took a day to get it off of her so I could wash and pack it because she loved it so much.

Peter wrote a really funny copy for the whole thing of which I remember bits and pieces including "Dora sets out on her adventures with her companions Backpack, Boots the Monkey and Big Honking Guns." The last line was "Swiper, don't even think about Swiping." Danicah, Ariel's friend, worked out some choreography for Caroline to do and Caroline learned how to do it very well.

This kid has no stage fright and loves an audience. The audience loved her too. There was much laughter all through the skit and people complimented Caroline on her performance that night and the next day.

I am grateful that Caroline had so much fun doing this.
