In the dammit column I put the passing of Fred Saberhagen.
He was a writer that I discovered in a used book shop with the Dracula Tapes. I then scoured my local library for more of his work. I read through the Berserkers novels then his swords series. I really like his style.
Our paths crossed a couple of time over the years. He was a consummate professional and I learned a lot about writing from listening to him lecture on a variety of subjects.
He is survived by his wife Joan.
My sympathies to both his family and friends.
