Peter was originally going to go see the 300 at a press screening but that became the night of my miscarriage so he stayed with me. We both wanted to see the film. I had read the graphic novel back when it came out so it had been a while. Overall I thought it was a good film. I could almost overlay the drawing over the scenes. It looked like a Frank Miller comic book come to life. The acting was very stylized but then so was the whole film. I do think that if you are going to see it, the big screen is necessary for the full scope. This one is going to lose something when it goes to a smaller screen even if it is an HD plasma screen. Not for those who have a low gore threshold (not as bad a Sin City but still graphic).

Caroline is definitely on the mend. She has been playing with her various animals in groups around the living room and a couple of puzzles have been completed. She is still hovering close to me and checking in. I am so grateful that she is good about taking her medicine. I have never had a problem with her in that arena. She is pretty good about thinking in the abstract and she understands that this medicine makes her feel better.

I have a lot to do today and finally feel like I have the energy to do it which is a far cry from where I was a week ago. Healing is a funny thing. You don't realize exactly how bad you were feeling until you start feeling better then you wonder how you go through the illness/injury (or is that just me?)I still have a bit of a cough but that is much more productive and I am mostly breathing through my nose which is a step up.

I am grateful for feeling better.

I'm glad Caroline is doing better.

Hooray for feeling better! I know what you mean about realizing how sick you were after you feel better. Glad you got to get out to see a movie. I have seen fewer than five movies in the theatre since my daughter was born, so I totally appreciate the value of getting to go out! Personally, I did not want to see 300, but I do not like war movies...I am usually more a Period Drama sort of person.

It was the wolf scene for me that *really* brought home the graphic novel. The only complaint I have is that those old men in the council weren't nearly scarred-to-shite enough to make them believable. I kept wanting someone to point out that the old and unscarred in Spartan life were clearly too cowardly to be afforded any respect at all...

I don't know why I was so obsessed with that particular historical innaccuracy when neither comic nor film pretended accuracy in that way!
