There is a memorial web log that has been set up for Rabbi David Honigsberg. It is at "In_Memorial". Needless to say his death was rather sudden and we, being his friends and family, are still processing it.

I saw him at LunaCon and he played with Caroline while I helped someone else with their costume by seeing what pieces I had that could complete the look. Caroline was showing him her stuffed animals and telling him a story. Alexandra, David and I did the short version of news and they both expressed sympathy and offered a clerical ear about the miscarriage. I always liked David. He was just such a sweet guy and took his religion very seriously. He was always there to answer questions about Jewish Mysticism, a subject he knew a lot about. He was a man with an air of peace about him and he will be missed terribly. I knew him more as a Rabbi and a musician than as a gamer but he was that and more.

There has been some other stuff going on that hasn't left me with warm fuzzies either but I am working through them and the next part of the puzzle.

I took Caroline out to the local playground because the weather was so beautiful. I will probably do the same later today as well. We have crocuses and daffodils coming up in the yard and there is smell of spring is in the air. A time of renewal and growth and apparently a need to clean. I don't think I really understood Spring Cleaning until I became a Mom and somewhere in my head a switch flipped and spring cleaning made perfect sense. So I am splitting my time between cleaning and art today. One hour of each and I plan to start with the cleaning. This is what I was going to try yesterday when I found out what happened to David and that kinda threw the day for a loop.

Last night Peter and I attended the High School Girls Bowling Team dinner with Ariel. Last year she walked away with 3 medals and 2 plaques. This year the count was 5 medals and 4 plaques including one for her 657 series which was the 5th highest in the county during the season. So she had fun with her friends and teammates while Peter and I had a good dinner with the parents and I found another science fiction fan in the group. As usual it took up all the time allotted and it was funny to see the lighting being turned off as a hint to the organizers that they only had the hall until 10:00.

I am grateful that I did go to the dinner and see Ariel do her Mark Spitz impression.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. May your memories of him endure.

Wonderful springtime flowers--that's terrific to hear.

Congrats to Ariel on bowling well. That's an impressive series score. I was a child bowler myself from ages 8-18 in various leagues. My dad took me to tournaments on weekends across Tennessee. I have my share of plaques and trophies from those glory days.

Thank you.

She's got something on the ball (as it were) and if she gets her mental game together she will probably do quite well which is what she is going to work on this summer with her coach.

I'm very sorry for your loss, and apologize for being so slow to offer condolences. I'm dealing with yet another suicide and am very overwhelmed with it right now. I hope that we can both find some peace with death.

You'll reach peace. You'll remember David well. So will many others. (I said this to Keith R.A. DeCandido, and it seems to fit: "I hope he's found another kind of peace." David sounds like he was a peaceful man.)

Thank you for telling us about how he and Caroline had fun (I love that Caroline's already telling stories), and for letting us know how well Ariel's doing.

Take care of yourself. But you know that, of course...

Thanks. I appreciate that.

Caroline is already showing her talents for telling stories just like her daddy.

I'm sorry for your loss
